Abstract Nowadays, in the EU and worldwide, agriculture and food industry face new trends of developing green alternatives. This agriculture sector emerged as a result of people concerns about health and environment due to the intensification of agriculture technologies, and uses of chemicals, in both agriculture and food processing industry. These problems appeared and acknowledged by the developed countries, among others, are strictly related to environmental pollution and increasing problems of health degradation. The present study investigates the possibilities of developing organic farming in Romania and Serbia. The results show that there is a great application that can ensure its development, considering many factors relating to the way in which resources are exploited. Thus, statistical data about agricultural areas under organic farming, uncultivated areas, use of chemicals, and number of semi-subsistent farms are gathered in both countries and comparative analyzed. This article makes a foray in assessing the resources that countries can rely on in developing strategies based on organic agriculture.

This paper presents an intelligent approach to integrated data collection and management system for irrigation and fertilisation of plants in agricultural production (specifically in apple plantations) applied to control and optimization of all parameters necessary for an adequate level of agricultural production. The approach tends to reduce investment costs, minimize power consumption and implement environmentally clean power production methods, as well as to apply proper treatment of chemical preparations in order to achieve economically viable integrated food production. Application of modern systems of complex sensor networks connected via mobile solar power generators as main node connection allows the collection of all data and parameters necessary for the continuity of integrated agricultural production. The mobile robotized solar power generator is also the executive device that manages complex hydraulic system for irrigation and fertilisation, treating the field with chemicals depending on available land, meteorological and environmental conditions.

English Abstract: In the last few decades, vegetable production in greenhouses has been more and more presented within the national agriculture. On small agricultural holdings, in aforementioned form of protected production area, dominate the tomato, cucumber and pepper growing. However, in recent years, beside vegetable crops, flowers are more and more grown (seedlings and cut flowers), where on the territory of Pancevo city, in cut flowers production calla lily becomes particularly interesting to producers. In paper are presented some specificities in cucumber and calla lily production in greenhouse, with the main goal to easily determine (according to contribution margin analysis in the cut flowers (calla lily) and cucumber production) in which line of plant production can be expected achievement of potentially better financial results. All, for analysis, necessary data were obtained from the small family agricultural holdings located at the territory of Pancevo city (within the Metropolitan area Belgrade - Novi Sad). After analytical calculations based on the variable costs have been made, it can be concluded that producers may generally achieve better production results within the calla lily production.
