This paper describes the modular development control platform including dedicated supporting tools. The platform was specially designed for the multi-level converters control therefore it provides up to 48 (plus 24 optional) of PWM outputs thanks to additional FPGA utilization. The combination of DSP enabled microcontroller and the FPGA allowed us to split the computational tasks between these parts which significantly helps with highly complex algorithms implementation. Fast application development is supported thanks to the software drivers covering broad range of elemental functions including communication, DMA transfers, AD service routines and basic user interface. Also an enhanced set of FPGA entities featuring various modulator functionalities are provided. Dedicated tools involves fully insulated JTAG interface with developed software allowing the platform to be programmed by a single JTAG emulator. An application example based on four level FLC converter is presented.

This paper proposed a new ZCS single phase ac-ac matrix converter for the traction applications. The proposed soft switching matrix converter is enhanced with an auxiliary resonant circuit in order to achieve the zero current switching for main bidirectional switches of the matrix converter. The main advantage of this proposed topology is soft switching of matrix converter to achieve switching loses limitation. This paper describes the operation of the proposed matrix converter, simulation analysis and experimental validation of the prototype for 50V-16.7Hz-100W-400Hz.

Charging stations are becoming an important part of the modern urban infrastructure. This paper describes a concept of a standalone cost-effective medium power charging station dedicated for electric bus charging. It is based on a voltage-source active rectifier operating in both current and voltage mode supplied by low voltage power grid. Appropriate model and simulation of the station at the power level of 300kW are provided.

This paper describes control algorithm for the controlled single-phase H-bridge power inverter with LCL filter. The LCL type of the filter provides significant reduction of the current ripple. On the other hand the stability of the circuit is reduced as well, especially the current control stability which is the reason for double current control implementation. This solution provides direct current control of both the converter input and output side currents while the main control requirement is to provide the precise sinusoidal output current waveform. The proposed control was verified on a laboratory prototype of H-bridge power inverter with medium switching frequency (over thousands of Hertz) and with inconsiderable (3.3 μs) dead-times.
