Hemophilus para-influenzae endocarditis

Abstract Since the discovery by Pfeiffer, in 1893, of B. influenzae , instances of bacterial endocarditis caused by organisms of the influenza group have been reported periodically. It is the purpose of this paper to attempt a critical review of these reports in the light of more recent bacteriologic studies of the H. influenzae group, and to present two new cases of subacute bacterial endocarditis caused by H. para-influenzae (Rivers, 1922).

Listerella meningitis: A report of an additional case with necropsy findings

Summary 1. A fatal case of purulent leptomeningitis due to the new pathogen of the genus Listerella is reported. 2. The necropsy and bacteriologic findings are described.

Immunologic Studies on Patients Suffering from Bacterial Endocarditis

Conclusions Patients in the active bacteremic stage of bacterial endocarditis exhibit no significant serologic evidence of immunity by the methods used in this study. Immune antibodies developed coincidentally with the disappearance of bacteremia.
