Abstract The equation of motion of the gravitino is investigated in a flat space reduced from the Kerr geometry by taking the massless limit of the gravitational source. We adopt the ansatz ψ μ ( x )= δ μo ψ ( x ), i.e., the Coulomb potential analogue to the Rarita-Schwinger Majorana field of the gravitino. A non-trivial exact classical solution of ψ ( x ) is obtained and it is interpreted as the source of the intrinsic topology of the background flat space. This flat space is spanned by two Minkowski sheets interconnected through a disk of radius a (the angular momentum parameter in the Kerr geometry).

Abstract We present an exact rotating Schwinger dyon solution with the Kerr-Newman metric which is characterized by four physical parameters, mass M , angular momentum S , electric charge Q , and magnetic charge φ. Our solution reduces to the rotating Dirac monopole in the case Q = 0.

SummaryThe spherically symmetric Julia-Zee dyon solution of the coupled Yang-Mills-Higgs systems is studied in curved space-time. An exact solution for which the space-time metric takes the Reissner-Nordström form is presented.

The relation between the spherically symmetric Julia-Zee dyon of the coupled Yang-Mills-Higgs system and the cosmological term is studied in curved space-time. It is pointed out that the cosmological term comes out of the Higgs field.

Abstract Global environmental problems have attracted increasingly public attention in recent years. The GIS for managing and handling global environmental information (Global GIS) is expected to be a useful tool in global environmental studies. A tessellation scheme of a spherical surface of the globe forms one of the important basis of a Global GIS especially in using raster data. However, conventional latitude‐longitude tessellation scheme has several inconveniences, such as low efficiency in data storage and analysis. After reviewing requirements of spherical tessellation schemes for Global GIS, we propose a set of evaluation indices and make a comprehensive comparison of spherical tessellation schemes, including conventional and proposed ones. Through the comparison, North‐Up ZOT projection‐based tessellation proposed by the authors is found relatively suitable for Global GIS, especially in applying existing GIS software.

Abstract We present an exact rotating dyon solution for which the space-time metric takes the Tomimatsu-Sato form with an arbitrary integer distortion parameter δ. Our solution reduces to the rotating monopole solution for vanishing electric charge.

It is shown that a dyon solution, characterized by five parameters (massM, angular momentumJ, electric chargeQ, magnetic charge Φ, and distortion parameter δ), has an event horizon for arbitrary odd integer δ and satisfies the Christodoulou-Ruffini mass formula.

Abstract The space-time structure of an exact dyon solution with the Tomimatsu-Sato-Yamazaki metric (ergosurfaces, event horizons, and ring singularities) is studied, and the relation between dyon black hole and thermodynamics is discussed.

SummaryWe present an exact solution of a rotating dyon in the Tomimatsu-Sato-Yamazaki space-time. This solution is characterized by five parameters (massM, angular momentumS, electric chargeQ, magnetic charge Φ and distortion parameter δ), has the event horizon for odd integer δ and reduces to the rotating monopole in the caseQ=0.RiassuntoSi presenta una soluzione esatta di un dione rotante nello spazio-tempo di Tomimatsu-Sato-Yamazaki.
