Low Temperature Heat Storage Type (Use of Clathrate)

ABSTRACT We performed tests of clathrate low temperature heat storage system which can be expected for use in air conditioning etc. of building, by storing enegy of night excess power at a high heat storage density and taking it out as low temperature heat when energy becomes necessary in the dytime. In this research, we carried out direct and indirect method formation and decomposition of R-11/water type clathrate, using a small system and found out that both methods allow smooth formation and decomposition. This work is one of the R & D programs of Technology Research Association of Super Heat Pump Enegy Accumulation System, entrusted by New Enegy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO).
