EFFECT OF THERMAL DEFORMATION ON THE CYLINDRICAL ACCURACY IN A GRINDING PROCESS

The cylindrical accuracy of workpieces which are longitudinally ground on the cylindrical grinding machine varies gradually with the running time of the machine. The cylindrical error of the workpiece induced by the thermal displacement of the V-type slideway of the machine is calculated by simple equations on the basis of temperature distribution and thermal displacement of the machine. The amount of this error can be also inferred from measurements of the out-of-straightness of the workpiece movement in the horizontal plane. The amount of cylindrical error of workpieces which are longitudinally ground on the experimental grinding machine is in general agreement with results obtained from the solutions of equations and the measurement of the out-of-straightness of the workpiece movement. This confirms that the variation of the working accuracy in the longitudinal grinding process is mainly caused by the thermal displacement of the V-type slideway of the grinding machine.

ヘリコイド切削用工具について, 輪郭曲線の計算式を求め, 干渉の問題を論じた.その結果, 一般の場合には, 多刃ねじフライス(丸形ねじロールも同様), ラック型カッタ(平形ねじロールも同様)およびねじの投影に対しては嚴密な計算式が得られたが, 底刃フライス, 單刃成形フライスおよび成形バイトに対しては精密な近似計算式を導いた.ただし中心軸断面が直線の輪郭をもつねじにはすべての場合に嚴密な計算式が得られた.
