The accurate understanding of critical thinking and mathematical creativity in solving the current problem is still difficult to standardize. These two thinking skills are indispensable to anyone who is studying mathematics, especially for Undergraduate Mathematics students who are studying Linear Algebra. However, the difficulties in critical thinking discourage students to think creatively and mathematically. In linear algebraic subject matter, many problems require critical reasoning. It goes without saying that the difficulties in various reasoning aspects critically cause other difficulties in developing creative thinking aspects. Further, mathematical critical thinking skills in solving problems require a background in understanding the concepts related to the problem faced. In addition, the failure to understand and connect between concepts in solving linear algebra problems makes it worst and difficult to critically and creatively think.

Type of this study is quantitative. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of SSCS learning model with KNWS strategy towards mathematical creative thinking ability and self confidence of students. The populations of this study was students at grade VIII SMP Muhammadiyah 8 Semarang academic year 2016/2017. The sampling was done by cluster random sampling technique, which were chosen VIIIA as experiment class and VIIIC as control class. Data collection methods used documentation, a test, a questionnaire, and an observation. The result of this study stated that the mathematical creative thinking ability of the experiment class students had reached the classical completeness, percentage of mastery learning on mathematical creative thinking ability of the experiment class students was better than that percentage of the control class students, average of test result on mathematical creative thinking ability of the experiment class students was better than that average of the control class students, average of self confidence score of the experiment class students was better than that average of the control class students, teacher ability and the learning activities at the experiment class students included in good category, response of the experiment class students to joint the learning is positive.

The learning model that can be implemented to improve problem solving skills is Malcolm’s Modeling. The objectives of this research were (1) to measure problem solving skill of the students who was taught by Malcom’s modeling based on KWL thinking strategy towards the minimum criteria scores; (2) to compare the students on problem solving skill who received Malcom’s Modeling based on KWL Thinking Strategy and expository learning model in the chapter of Scientific Notation. The population of this research were the students of seventh grade in Tainan Municipal Jincheng Junior High School in the academic year of 2016/2017. By simple random sampling technique, class 705 was selected as the experiment class and class 711 was selected as the control class. The data were collected by using some instruments, they were test and documentation. Data analysis used SPSS software and excel for t-test and proportion test. The results of the research showed that : (1) Malcom’s modeling based on KWL thinking strategy gained good result to the scores of the students; (2) the problem solving skill of the students who received Malcom’s Modeling using KWL Thinking Strategy was better than that skill of the students who received expository learning model.

Kemampuan komunikasi matematis dan disposisi matematis peserta didik SMP N 2 Gemolong masih rendah sehingga diperlukan model pembelajaran yang tepat untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut. Salah satu model pembelajaran yang dapat digunakan adalah Model-Eliciting Activities berbantuan LKPD. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui keefektifan pembelajaran Model-Eliciting Activities berbantuan LKPD terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis dan disposisi matematis peserta didik dan untuk mengetahui apakah disposisi matematis berpengaruh positif terhadap komunikasi peserta didik. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Gemolong tahun ajaran 2014/2015. Sampel dalam penelitian ini diambil dengan teknik cluster random sampling. Terambil dua kelas sampel, yaitu kelas VIII-B sebagai kelas eksperimen yang diterapkan pembelajaran Model-Eliciting Activities berbantuan LKPD dan kelas VIII-A sebagai kelas kontrol yang diterapkan pembelajaran langsung. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah: nilai tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis dengan Model-Eliciting Activities berbantuan LKPD mencapai ketuntasan belajar dan rata-rata nilai tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis dengan Model-Eliciting Activities berbantuan LKPD mencapai KKM; proporsi peserta didik yang mencapai KKM dan rata-rata nilai tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis peserta didik dengan Model-Eliciting Activities berbantuan LKPD lebih tinggi daripada proporsi peserta didik yang mencapai KKM dan rata-rata nilai tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis peserta didik pada pembelajaran langsung; rata-rata skor disposisi matematis peserta didik pada pembelajaran dengan Model-Eliciting Activities berbantuan LKPD lebih tinggi daripada rata-rata skor disposisi matematis peserta didik pada pembelajaran langsung; dan disposisi matematis peserta didik berpengaruh positif terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis. Simpulan yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini adalah: (1) pembelajaran dengan Model-Eliciting Activities berbantuan LKPD efektif terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis peserta didik; (2) pembelajaran dengan Model-Eliciting Activities berbantuan LKPD lebih efektif daripada model pembelajaran langsung terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis; (3) disposisi matematis peserta didik dengan pembelajaran Model-Eliciting Activities berbantuan LKPD lebih baik daripada disposisi matematis peserta didik dengan model pembelajaran langsung; dan (4) disposisi matematis peserta didik berpengaruh positif terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis.

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis ketercapaian ketuntasan belajar peserta didik yang diajar menggunakan model PBL berbasis nilai karakter berbantuan CD pembelajaran pada kemampuan pemecahan masalah, membandingkan model PBL berbasis nilai karakter berbantuan CD pembelajaran dengan model ekspositori pada kemampuan pemecahan masalah, dan menganalisis pengaruh aktivitas peserta didik yang ditimbulkan oleh model PBL berbasis nilai karakter berbantuan CD pembelajaran terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah . Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Gajah. Dengan menggunakan cluster random sampling terpilih dua kelas sampel yaitu kelas VII A dan VII B sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan metode tes dan metode observasi. Dari hasil uji hipotesis 1 yaitu uji ketuntasan individual dan klasikal diperoleh bahwa peserta didik kelas eksperimen dapat mencapai ketuntasan individual dan klasikal. Dari hasil uji hipotesis 2 yaitu uji perbedaan dua rata-rata dan dua proporsi diperoleh bahwa rata-rata dan proporsi ketuntasan peserta didik kelas eksperimen lebih baik daripada rata-rata dan proporsi ketuntasan kelas kontrol. Dari hasil uji hipotesis 3 yaitu analisis regresi linier sederhana diperoleh bahwa aktivitas peserta didik berpengaruh terhadap hasil tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah sebesar 85 %. Simpulan yang diperoleh adalah model PBL berbasis nilai karakter berbantuan CD pembelajaran efektif terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah materi segiempat kelas VII.
