In Situ Geothermal Energy Technology: an Approach for Building Cleaner And Greener Environment

Md. Faruque Hossain

Geothermal energy is abundant everywhere in the world. It certainly would be a great benefit for human being once it is produced by a sophisticated technology. Consequently, it would be the biggest console for earth considering environmental sustainability. Unfortunately, the current status of commercial production of geothermal energy primarily from hydrothermal, geopressured, hot dry rock, and magma are limited to a few countries due to technological difficulties and production cost. This paper describes a simple technology where an in situ geothermal plant assisted by a heat pump would act as a high-temperature production (>150 °C) to provide excellent capacity of energy generation. The issue related to costs is interestingly cheaper on production, comparing to other technologies, such as solar, hydro, wind, and traditional geothermal technology as described in this article. Therefore, it is suggested that heat pump assisted in situ geothermal energy sources has a great potentiality to be a prime energy source in near future. Since the technology has a number of positive characteristics (simple, safe, and provides continuous baseload, load following, or peaking capacity) and benign environmental attributes (zero emissions of CO2, SOx, and NOx), it certainly would be an interesting technology in both developed, and developing countries as an attractive option to produce clean energy to confirm a better environment.

Production of Clean Energy from Cyanobacterial Biochemical Products

Md. Faruque Hossain

ABSTRACTIn this article, an improved technology to produce hydrogen biologically will be discussed as a source of clean energy. The photochemical reaction among photons, ultraviolet (UV) light, and cyano-bacterial biomaterials in photobioreactors offer a unique methodology for producing hydrogen energy. A photobioreactor is a bioreactor that utilizes a light source to cultivate phototrophic microorganisms. Using this technology, hydrogen production is significantly higher than any other technology that has ever been used. This hydrogen evolution is a product of the ultimate reaction of agitated photon electrons into the cyanobacterial biomolecules, where hydrogenase enzymes function as an active catalyst. The evolved hydrogen is then clarified using an electronic semiconductor-based sensor gas chromatograph with the efficiency recorded using a computerized data acquisition (DAQ) system. The results confirmed that this larger amount of hydrogen formation could be an interesting source of clean energy produ...

Invisible transportation infrastructure technology to mitigate energy and environment

Md. Faruque Hossain

BackgroundTraditional transportation infrastructure built by heat trapping products and the transportation vehiles run by fossil fuel, both causing deadly climate change. Thus, a new technology of invisible Flying Transportation system has been proposed to mitigate energy and environmental crisis caused by traditional infrastructure system.MethodsUnderground Maglev system has been modeled to be constructed for all transportation systems to run the vehicle smoothly just over two feet over the earth surface by propulsive and impulsive force at flying stage. A wind energy modeling has also been added to meet the vehicle’s energy demand when it runs on a non-maglev area. Naturally, all maglev infrastructures network to be covered by evergreen herb except pedestrian walkways to absorb CO2, ambient heat, and moisture (vapor) from the surrounding environment to make it cool.ResultsThe research revealed that the vehicle will not require any energy since it will run by superconducting electromagnetic force while it runs on a maglev infrastructure area and directed by wind energy while it runs on non-maglev area.ConclusionsThe proposed maglev transportation infrastructure technology will indeed be an innovative discovery in modern engineering science which will reduce fossil fuel energy consumption and climate change dramatically.
