A web service QoS prediction approach based on multi-dimension QoS

Lu Li; Mei Rong; Guangquan Zhang

With the rapid development of web service, there are a lot of web services to be chosen. Consumers usually choose the suitable web service when they know little about web services. To address this problem, this paper presents a web service QoS prediction approach based on multi-dimension QoS. It normalizes the multi-dimension QoS parameters and maps each dimension QoS parameter into the same interval in order to provide references for consumers to choose the suitable web service. At last, an application example is used to explain this approach.

An Internet of Things QoE evaluation method based on multiple linear regression analysis

Lu Li; Mei Rong; Guangquan Zhang

With the development of the Internet of things(IoT), many various IoT applications continue to emerge. How to evaluate the approbate degree of users on IoT applications is an important problem in IoT research. To address this problem, this paper presents an IoT quality of experience(QoE) evaluation method based on multiple linear regression analysis. Firstly, this paper analyzes the type of IoT applications, determines the quality of service(QoS) parameters of QoE and collects the sample data. Then, it gets the principal components by principal component analysis, associates QoE to the principal components based on multiple regression analysis and builds the regression equation between QoE and principal components. Finally, it gets the functional model between QoE and QoS parameters on the basis of the regression equation. Experimental results show that this evaluation method can reduce the complexity of QoE evaluation and quantify functional relation between QoE and QoS parameters.

An Internet of things QoS estimate approach based on multi-dimension QoS

Lu Li; Mei Rong; Guangquan Zhang

Internet of things(IoT) has highly got recognition for its important application prospects from the day of emerging. Academia and industry have carried out extensive research aiming at the key theories and technologies of IoT. How to estimate the QoS of applications of IoT is an important problem in IoT research. To address this problem, this paper presents an IoT QoS estimate approach based on multi-dimension QoS which introduces multi-dimension QoS to estimate the QoS of applications of IoT. At last, an application example of IoT is used to explain how this approach to estimate the QoS of applications of IoT.

A web service composition selection approach based on multi-dimension QoS

Lu Li; Mei Rong; Guangquan Zhang

With the development of web service, web service composition is used widely. How to guarantee the non-functional requirement of users under the precondition of satisfying functional requirement of users is an important problem in web service composition. To address this problem, this paper presents a web service composition selection approach based on multi-dimension quality of service(QoS) which introduces multi-dimension QoS to describe the QoS of web service composition and computes the QoS of web service composition according to the type of web service composition. Then the web service composition which can best satisfy the non-functional requirement of users can be found from the web service compositions which can satisfy functional requirement of users according to this approach. At last, an application example is used to explain this approach.

A web service selection approach based on improved Euclidean distance

Lu Li; Mei Rong; Guangquan Zhang

With the development of Internet, web service is used widely. How to choose the web service which can satisfy the non-functional requirement of users is an important problem in web service. To address this problem, this paper presents a web service selection approach based on improved Euclidean distance. It uses the gauss method to normalize the multi-dimension QoS parameters and computes the distance of points in the multidimension QoS space to scale the similarity of QoS properties by introducing weight to Euclidean distance. Then the web service which can satisfy the non-functional requirement of users can be found according to this approach. At last, an application example is used to explain this approach.

Modeling aspect-oriented software architecture based on ACME

Mei Rong; Changlin Liu; Guangquan Zhang

The crosscutting phenomena has been found at architectural level. Using aspects, AOP effectively solves the code tangling problem produced by the crosscutting phenomena at code level. This paper presents an approach to aspect-oriented software architecture design by introducing the concept of aspects into the process of software architecture design. We describe the regular architectural structure with the basic design elements of ACME, and represent the architectural aspects with the proposed extension of ACME. The example of an Online Bookstore System has been used to illustrate our proposal.

An Aspect-Oriented Software Architecture Description Language based on temporal logic

Mei Rong

Aspect-Oriented Programming can resolve the code tangling problem in Object-Oriented Programming via using the technology of separation of concerns. Software architecture is becoming an important part in the phase of software design, it has the ability of helping designer to handle the structure and the complexity of large software systems, and Aspect-Oriented Software Development (AOSD) is a new paradigm proposed to manage the complexity by crosscutting concerns in the whole software life-cycle. In order to adequately specify aspect-oriented design, Aspect-Oriented Architecture Description Languages are needed. XYZ/ADL is an architecture description language which is based on temporal logic language XYZ/E. XYZ/ADL separates computation and communication into two different architecture elements — component and connector, but lacks some appropriate support to represent these crosscutting behaviors. So, XYZ/ADL must be extended to resolve the problem above by adding a kind of new elements — Aspect and modifying the former component and connector. At last, we illustrate them on an example of the Hotel Management System via using AO-ADL.

A behavior-driven model of component interaction adaptation

Huacheng Qi; Mei Rong; Guangquan Zhang

The problem of adapting heterogeneous software components that present mismatching interaction behaviour is one of the crucial problems in Component-Based Software Engineering (CBSE). To solve this problem, component behavior ontology (CBO) which includes component entities, component behaviors and component behavior properties is constructed in the paper. Based on CBO, we propse a component interaction adaptation model (CIAM). In the model, we divide different component groups, detect interaction behaviour deadlock by component behavior properties and set up adapter specification via behavior rules. Finally, we obtain an autocephalous adapter for each component group to remove mismatching interaction behaviour.

Counterexample generation and representation in model checking for probabilistic timed automata

Jianfeng Wu; Jing Wang; Mei Rong; Guangquan Zhang; Jihan Zhu

Recently, probabilistic systems have been widely used. People have drawn attention to counterexample generation for probabilistic system model checking. Current works are mainly focusing on the counterexample generation for Markov chains. Probabilistic timed automata (PTA) is the extension of Markov chain with non-determinism and system clocks. This paper focuses on counterexample representation while model checking PTA. Firstly, the semantic of PTA can be regarded as Markov decision process (MDP); secondly, we use adversary to convert MDP into discrete-time Markov chains (DTMCs); thirdly, we convert DTMCs into weighted graph. So, counterexample generation for PTA can be converted into shortest path problem for weighted digraph. Finally, we use regular expressions to represent the counterexample.

A model for CPS software system trustworthiness evaluation based on attributes classifying

Mei Rong

Cyber-Physical System is a kind of new systems by combining physical world with computation processes. There are many kinds of software in Cyber-Physical System, and the software system is composed of them. Its difficult for the software system to examine the attributes such as correctness, safety, reliability by using software testing or formal method. So we propose a model for CPS software system trustworthiness evaluation based on trustworthiness attributes. Firstly, present a method to calculate the satisfaction of trustworthiness attributes by considering the aging of trustworthiness evidences; secondly, based on the weight distribution, a software trustworthiness calculating method is brought forward. Then based on the trustworthiness of software and the logical structures of the software system, we present a method to evaluate the trustworthiness level of CPS software system. At Last, we use an example to explain the effectiveness of the model.
