Describes the Tertiary section revealed by a boring in the axial zone of the Villagrains-Landiras anticline in the Aquitaine basin, France. The anticline was a land mass from the end of the Cretaceous until the Stampian (Oligocene) after which it was partially or completely covered by transgressing seas until the Aquitanian (Miocene). Uplift took place after the Aquitanian.
