Waterlogging happens almost in every rainstorm in city roads and the concave type of overpasses in Beijing. It causes to serious effect for the security of people’s daily travel. For resolving this kind of problem, this paper designed a monitoring network by water level sensors and other technologies of internet of things, and developed a monitoring and early warning system for detecting the real-time information of waterlogging conditions in urban roads. This system can capture the real time information of waterlogging depth, make a fast query statistics for certain road or area, and also provide the short message service for the public. It is very convenient for the managers working in department of flood control and command center to collect the real-time information of waterlogging status around urban roads. This is helpful for the local government to perform the correspondingly emergency plan and issue waterlogging information for the public, so as to reduce the impact on the security of people’s travel caused by the suddenly bad weather.

In this paper, the vehicle-mounted outdoor signboard management system (VOSMS) was designed and developed based on MMS and RFID technologies. In VOSMS, each outdoor signboard can be automatically identified in real-time though reading the active RFID tags attached to it. Wuhan LD2000-R MMS was adopted to acquire on-site image and video information of outdoor signboards . By VOSMS, legal or illegal outdoor signboards along streets can be automatically found out and located, and visual information can be viewed at the same time. Furthermore, the size of outdoor signboards can be measured on the images directly, and the density of outdoor signboards can also be calculated, and so on. VOSMS is a C/S software architecture system, the programming language is C# and SQL Server is the database server. To show how VOSMS can be effectively used to manage outdoor signboards, the system has been deployed in Beijing Garden Bureau of Xicheng District for their actual business.

Urban heat island (UHI) refers to the phenomenon of the higher atmospheric temperature in the central urban area than the surrounding rural area, which makes the urban like a warmer island compared with the rural area. The vector data of 25 preserved zones and second ring road were overlain to the land surface temperature image. The UHI intensity in each zone and the old city is the difference between the averaged land surface temperature and the rural land surface temperature. Our results showed that the averaged urban heat island intensity in the preserved zones of history and culture was lower than that of the old city. But the UHI intensity in some zones such as Dongbolichang, Dashilan, and Dongluguxiang were very big. Because there were high density of buildings in these zone. The smallest UHI intensity is in the Huangcheng zone which might be resulted from the large areas of water body and green land.

Rapid growth of urban public facilities increased the important impact on urban component management in case number and hotspot space distribution. Many urban component management events such as huddle of wastes and illegal ads have been frequently hot issues. To support the government decision, methods and flows based on spatial analyst are put forward to explore the hot spot of urban component management event. Illegal ads event is taken as case study. The events spatial correlation is decided by using exploratory spatial data analysis and Global Morans I. Ripleys K is used to explore its spatial distribution pattern, which provides the basis for urban management events data mining. To identify the spatial border of hot spots, the spatial hot spot analysis is employed. Finally, the overlay spatial analyst between hot spot and business area layer and/or residential building layer is used to validate the feasibility and rationality of the hot spot analysis. It is concluded that illegal ads event has obvious spatial clustering and coincides exactly with the existing business area and places where population flows more frequently. According to the result, the urban management administrators can make decision more conveniently and reasonably. Comparing with time series analysis methods, this method has advantage in space information, good visualization and dynamic monitor which are useful for government decision.

Rainfall data is useful in many fields such as urban management, agriculture, and so on. Spatial interpolation is widely used to interpolation continue rainfall data from discrete rainfall gauges. The uncertainty in spatial interpolation is change in different region. Paper focus on urban small area of Beijing city, Xicheng District and analyses uncertainty of spatial interpolation from four aspects: rainfall gauge number, density, position, spatial interpolation methods. RMSE and cross-validation is adopted to evaluate the accuracy of interpolation and the lowest RMSE is taken as optimal. The results suggest that more gauges can get a good performance with low error compared to little stations; and dense gauges network gets high accuracy than sparse station. Ordinary kriging is simple than other method and has a good estimation (except co-kriging) in small area spatial interpolation. Co-kriging has a high accuracy in interpolation but complex in computation and must be considering in the other variables.

This paper focuses on the establishment of an urban flood control system in Xicheng district of Beijing by means of detecting rain monitoring sensors located in some lower yards or long term water accumulation areas. This system takes a good advantage of sensors and 3G network technology, and overcomes the pitfalls of lower accuracy and hard to update for the rain precipitation during the monitoring and warning of urban flood. This system also provides spatial analysis and warning and forecasting rain fall services. The results achieved in this system can offer a good support for the decision making in urban flood control and management.

The textural features are adopted to classify the farmland in high resolution remote sensing images, in which the spectral feature is similar while the textural feature is dissimilar. On the basis of analysis of the contributions to the classification caused by different textural features, the method of classification with weighted textural features is proposed. And then, the algorithm of sub-classification of farmland in high resolution remote sensing images is discussed. Finally, the experiment is given through the Brodatz combined texture image and a high resolution remote sensing image. The results show that this algorithm is effective.

During the High-speed railway location design the following factors are mainly considered: the topographical condition, geomorphy, geology, hydrology, layout plan, environmental influence, engineering reliability, security, investment income and so on. The decision for these factors is the key to the railway location design optimization. In this paper, high-speed railway location system is established based on GIS technology. The design parameters are obtained by a series of analyses to the influence factors. The analyses include buffer analysis, overlay analysis, network analysis and hierarchical analysis. By adjusting the technical constraints or environmental indicators, the multi-factor, multi-parameter comprehensive quantitative evaluation system for high-speed railway location is realized. Finally according to the hierarchy model of the final evaluation system of optimal railway location decision, the weight of program level and criterion level and the weight of criterion level are integrated to determine the ultimate weight of the program level to object level. And the program optimization is fulfilled and the optimal railway location is obtained.

During our monitoring of the UHI effect in central Beijing using Advance Spaceborne Thermal Emission and Reflection Radiometer (ASTER) data, an urban heat sink was found. This paper focuses on the analysis of this urban heat sink developed in the winter morning of Beijing by analyzing the heat energy exchange in detail. The heat energy exchange including the net radiation, latent heat flux and sensible heat flux at the boundary between the land and atmosphere were calculated in our study area. The results show that the rural area has a bigger net radiation, sensible heat flux and smaller latent heat flux than that of the urban area, and the residue heat flux in the rural area is bigger than that of the urban area.
