Phytochemistry | 1987

Acetylenes from the callus of Panax ginseng

Yasuo Fujimoto; Mitsuru Satoh

Abstract Two new polyacetylenes were isolated from dried callus of Panax ginseng. The structures of the polyacetylenes were confirmed as heptadeca-3-oxo-4,6-diyne-9,10-diol and its dihydro derivative by their IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR and mass spectra, and some chemical reactions. The new acetylenes exhibited growth inhibition against Yoshida sarcoma cells in tissue culture.

Phytochemistry | 1994

Polyacetylenes from Panax quinquefolium

Yasuo Fujimoto; Hongcheng Wang; Mitsuru Satoh; Naoki Takeuchi

Abstract New C 17 - and C 14 -polyacetylenes, and two known polyacetylenes were isolated from the dried roots of Panax quinquefolium . The structures of the new polyacetylenes were determined by their 1 H and 13 CNMR, and mass spectral data. The C 17 -polyacetylenes exhibited strong cytotoxic activity (IC 50 =0.1≈0.5 μg ml −1 ) against leukaemia cells (L1210) in tissue culture.

Phytochemistry | 1992

Acetylenes from Panax quinquefolium

Yasuo Fujimoto; Wang Hongcheng; Makoto Kirisawa; Mitsuru Satoh; Naoki Takeuchi

Abstract Two new C 17 -polyacetylenes and a C 14 -polyacetylene were isolated from dried roots of Panax quinquefolium . Their structures were determined by their 1 H NMR, 13 C NMR and mass spectral data. The cytotoxic activity of C 17 -polyacetylenes against leukemia cells (L 1210) was ca 20 times that of the C 14 -polyacetylene.

Heterocycles | 2005

Ring transformation of dimethoxybenzenes to heterocycles by ozonolysis

Kunihiko Mohri; Yuki Yoshida; Satoshi Ichikawa; Yuka Shinozuka; Mitsuru Satoh; Kimiaki Isobe

Dimethoxybenzene derivatives, which have a hydroxyalkyl or an aminoalkyl side-chain, were oxidized with ozone and transformed to heterocycles by ring closure reaction of the oxidative products.

Chemical & Pharmaceutical Bulletin | 1991
