The internet is gaining a lot of importance day by day, especially with the emergence of cloud technology. This new technology has made a new computing service to end users that include, PaaS, SaaS. On the other hand, this technology was accompanied with some shortages. The most serious obstacle is the security challenges because of the cloud is characterized by computing resource sharing and multi-tenancy features and as a result flooding based denial of service attack has been observed. This effect on performance and quality of service on cloud. To overcome this security challenge, there are several methods to detect and prevent this kind of attack. Most of these approaches are using statistical and/or artificial intelligence methods. In this research paper a new model to detect flooding based DoS attack in cloud environment has been suggested consisting three phases. (1) The first-phase is to model the normal traffic pattern for baseline profiling and (2) the second phase is the intrusion detection processes and (3) finally prevention phase. The covariance Matrix mathematical model is used as detecting method. The phase (1) and (2) have been implemented in real test bed. From the result, it is proven that we can detect the flooding attack effectively.

We present a novel approach for the measurement of one-way delays and throughput between network nodes in heterogeneous environment. This research investigates performance evaluation of remote data transfers on heterogeneous services and technologies environment. We propose an enhanced equation to evaluate the performance of network traffic management via Little Law and Queuing theory to improve the evaluation algorithm. To get accuracy results on the performance of simulation model, we measure (verify and validate) data from lab experiment. We use network management tool to capture those data and Ping Plotter application (network analyzer) to generate traffic. As a result, this simulation model can provide a good approximation of the real traffic (one-way delays and throughput) observed in the real network environment.

We present a novel approach for the measurement of one-way delays and throughput between network nodes in heterogeneous environment over Wide Area Network (WAN). As a result, this simulation model can provide a good approximation of the real traffic (one-way delays and throughput) observed in the real network environment (Wide Area Network, WAN). Through laboratory and field experiments, it shows that the model via simulation is capable of approximating the performance of remote data transfers over heterogeneous services and techniques within a minimum error range.

IPv6 provides a platform for new Internet functionality. It includes support for real-time flows, provider selection, and host mobility, end-to-end security, auto-configuration, and auto-reconfiguration. It solves the Internet scaling problem, provides a flexible transition mechanism for the current Internet, and was designed to meet the needs of new markets such as nomadic personal computing devices, networked entertainment, and device control. The significant of this study is to describe on development of a video conferencing system with multimedia capabilities (Video + Audio) over IPv6 environment at University of Kuala Lumpur (campus environment). The beneficial and apparent of this research is to introduce a new service of the Internet Protocol (IPv6) at the campus environment. The concept of multicasting is be explored as this was used in the development of the video conferencing (Video + Audio). By comparing IPv6 and IPv4 video conferencing performance, we focus on problems that are only present in the IPv6 environments.

We present a novel approach for the measurement and estimation of network traffic utilization between network nodes in heterogeneous environment. We propose an enhanced equation to evaluate the performance of network interface via little law and queuing theories to improve the evaluation algorithm. To get accuracy results on the performance of simulation model, we verify and validate data from local area network (real network environment). We use network management tool to capture those data and Fluke Optiview device to generate traffic. As a result, this simulation model can provide a good approximation of the real traffic observed in the real network environment.

this research was developed to produce a prototype product of a Web Based Temperature Monitoring system that allows the user to continuously monitor the temperature condition of a room. This prototype system is enhancement from the existing system that allowed the data to be monitored anytime and anywhere from the Internet and using new approach. This research development project was divided into two parts that involved with the hardware and software. The hardware part involved building the temperature sensor board and for the software part involved written programming and construct coding using C language program. The programs then are uploaded into the microcontroller which then created Visual Basic 6.0 application to display the temperature and saves the data into a database. An active Server Page (ASP) scripting language is used as server side scripting to publish the current temperature at the web browser. This prototype of a Web-Based Temperature Monitoring has met all the objectives derived and planned. The research project is considered successful and ready to be launched in the real system implementations.

on analyzing and designing a temperature monitoring system, understanding the situations and benchmark of the previous system that similar to the model is very important. The need to evaluate the current model, hardware and software development architecture for the temperature monitoring is important to build new architecture and designing model of a new system. In addition, most of the previous implementations include very complex architecture, broad areas of interest and various programming computing processes. This research was to study the comparison of speech temperature; automated and remote temperature monitoring that is similar to WEB monitoring system. It is to produce the model that allows the user to design continuously for monitoring temperature condition of a room while the data can be monitored anytime and anywhere from the Internet. The Model of designing the Web Based system is presented in this research. As a conclusion, Web-Based Temperature monitoring model then will be used and real system will be design in future project. This study is considered successful and preparation for the hardware and software for the development process of the real web based monitoring temperature is on the run.

We present the framework developmentof network management system approach. Thisresearch designs for network management systemmonitoring in Local Area Network (LAN)environment. The main objective of this study is tomonitor and measure the server performance, thusto analyze whether the server is normal, optimal oroverloaded. As a result, this framework of networkmanagement system can provide measurement ofthe server network traffic observed in the realnetwork environment. In addition, this frameworkof network management system can also provide abest practice for developers to implement thenetwork management system in real time basic.

The flooding based Denial-of-service attacks is one of the most common DoS attack targeting the web servers. Availability of the web server under this kind of attacks in danger. This attacks also cause bad influence on the networks bandwidth or in computing resources (CPU, Memory, Storage). Therefore, this paper will focus on studying the effects of (DoS) attacks on CPU power performance and in network band width. So, in this study real flooding attack is implemented in different scenarios in order to evaluate the CPU and bandwidth power performance Finally, the results are presented in all scenarios. Additionally, the most influential factors on a CPU performance and bandwidth power performance are highlighted in comparison method.

In this research, we propose an architectural solution to integrate the video voice over IP (V2oIP) services in campus environment network. Voice over IP (VoIP) technology has become a discussion issue for this time being. Today, the deployment of this technology on an organization truly can give a great financial benefit over traditional telephony. Therefore, this study is to analyze the V2oIP and investigate the performance areas evolved with the Quality of Service (QoS) delivered by video phone system. This study focuses on quality of voice and video, packet loss, delay time and jitter through the USB Video Phone and soft phone. In this study, network management system (NMS) is used to monitor and capture the performance of V2oIP in campus environment. In addition, the most apparent of implementing soft phone and USB phone in campus environment is to define the best situation (peak and non peak hours) that can be used in operational environment. Based on the finding result, it shows that users may experience V2oIP quality service degradations due to delays and losses in the LAN during peak hours.
