The potential of hybrid polymer 49% poly(methyl methacrylate)-grafted natural rubber (MG49) and poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) as a polymer host in solid polymer electrolyte film for rechargeable battery systems has been investigated. The hybrid films were prepared by the solution casting technique. The ionic conductivity was investigated by alternating current electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The highest conductivity was 1.47 ? 10?8?S?cm?1 at 20?wt% of LiClO4. The observation on structural studies performed by x-ray diffraction showed that the crystallinity phase is reduced at the highest conductivity. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy analysis showed that the interaction between lithium ion and oxygen atoms occurred at carbonyl (C=O) and ether (C?O?C) groups.

Despite the fact that perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have a strong potential as a next-generation photovoltaic technology due to continuous efficiency improvements and the tunable properties, some important obstacles remain before industrialization is feasible. For example, the selection of low-cost or easy-to-prepare materials is essential for back-contacts and hole-transporting layers. Likewise, the choice of conductive substrates, the identification of large-scale manufacturing techniques as well as the development of appropriate aging protocols are key objectives currently under investigation by the international scientific community. This Review analyses the above aspects and highlights the critical points that currently limit the industrial production of PSCs and what strategies are emerging to make these solar cells the leaders in the photovoltaic field.

TiO2-SiO2 (30:70) and (70:30) sol particles were first prepared through ClHNO2-EtOH catalysis; and then incorporated into methylated grafted natural rubber (MG49) polymer host. Resultant MG49-TiO2-SiO2 (30:70) and (70:30) polymer nanocomposites were characterized through XRD and FTIR analyses. Both MG49-TiO2-SiO2 (30:70) and (70:30) polymer nanocomposites had exhibited extensive reduction in semicrystalline phase; but no significant change in structural properties. Low crystalline MG49-TiO2-SiO2 (30:70) and (70:30) polymer nanocomposites were further characterized through SEM, TGA and DRA analyses. Both MG49-TiO2-SiO2 (30:70) and (70:30) polymer nanocomposites had exhibited different dispersion state on fracture surface. Both MG49-TiO2-SiO2 (30:70) and (70:30) polymer nanocomposites had demonstrated significant improvement in thermal properties, and also some improvement in rheological properties.
