Cross-coupling of chloroarenes with boronic acids using a water-soluble nickel catalyst

Abstract Various biarylic coumpounds are prepared by cross-coupling reactions between arylboronic acids and aromatic chlorides in organoaqueous medium. These reactions are performed using an hydrosoluble Ni(0) catalyst preformed from NiCl 2 (dppe) and TPPTS.

Practical palladium-mediated deprotective method of Allyloxycarbonyl in aqueous media

The Allyloxycarbonyl (Alloc) moiety can be removed smoothly and selectively in good yield (73-100%) from allylic eaters, carbamates and carbonates by aqueous Pd (0) catalyzed allyl transfer to diethylamine in aqueous media employing a water soluble phosphine. The allyl scavenger as well as by product allyl diethylamine are volatile and easily removed in vacuo. In a two phase system an increased selectivity is seen. The method has been successfully used for deprotection of a wide range of secondary amines or base sensitive derivatives and the catalyst is efficiently recycled.

An organometallic substitute for the radioactive Bolton–Hunter reagent

Novel organometallic reagents, such as the stable cobalt and molybdenum carbonyl complexes of hex-4-ynoic acid N-hydroxysuccinimide ester which are detectable at very low concentrations by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, couple with amine residues of peptides under mild conditions and provide a non-radio isotopic alternative for the widely used radioactive Bolton–Hunter tracer.
