Abstract Intraosseous neurilemmoma is rare, representing less than 1% of benign primary bone tumors. The site most commonly involved is the mandible. We report on a neurilemmoma of the mandible in a 30-year-old woman. A panoramic radiograph of the mandible showed a well-defined unilocular osteolytic lesion with a thin uniform sclerotic margin located in the body of the mandible. The CT scan confirmed a well-defined osteolytic lesion with thinning of the cortex of the body of the left side of the mandible. Histologically, the lesion was a moderately cellular neoplasm with distinct palisading and numerous Verocay bodies. Ultrastructurally, the cytoplasmic membranes were distinct and coated by amorphous bands of basal lamina. Complete excision was achieved by removing the tumor from the inferior alveolar nerve.

Glomangiosarcomas, or malignant glomus tumors, are very rare, cutaneous, soft tissue tumors. Despite having histologic features of malignancy, these tumors usually do not metastasize. We describe a 74‐year‐old woman with a glomangiosarcoma on her hand and review the literature. The woman presented with a five month history of a painful mass on the right palm. An excisional biopsy of the mass was undertaken. Histologically, the tumor was composed of uniform, round cells and numerous vascular components. The tumor cells were pleomorphic and had large nucleoli. Frequent mitotic figures were identified. Immunohistochemical stains showed strong positivity for vimentin and weak, focal positivity for smooth muscle actin. Ultrastructurally, the tumor cells were characterized by pinocytic vesicles, well formed basal lamina, and scattered junctional complex of the plasma membrane.

We report here on a case of extrahepatic biliary cystadenoma arising from the common hepatic duct. A 42-year-old woman was evaluated by us to find the cause of her jaundice. Ultrasonography and CT showed a cystic dilatation of the common hepatic duct and also marked dilatation of the intrahepatic duct. Direct cholangiography demonstrated a large filling defect between the left hepatic duct and the common hepatic duct; dilatation of the intrahepatic duct was also demonstrated. Following excision of the cystic mass, it was pathologically confirmed as a unilocular biliary mucinous cystadenoma arising from the common hepatic duct.
