Optimisation of e-commerce logistics distribution system: problem modelling and exact resolution

Mariem Masmoudi; Mounir Benaissa; Habib Chabchoub

In order to provide a decision support tool for home deliveries planning to e-commerce websites, four variants of the VRP have been combined into a single called load specific of multiple products types within heterogeneous fixed fleet vehicle routing and scheduling problem with time windows (LS-MPT-HFFVRSPTW). This problem includes constraints that can be observed in the electronic commerce environment. This paper to consider multiple types of products and vehicles, transport conditions and time windows. The main new idea is to assure compatibility between product type and vehicle type in order to satisfy required transport conditions. Mathematically this problem is formulated as a mixed integer linear programme. The formulation has been validated by tests on instances that bring the basic model of HVRPTW. New instances were built and optimal solutions have been provided by the CPLEX solver. In the future, this base of optimal solutions can be used for comparison with other approximate solutions.

Mounir Benaissa; Jaouad Boukachour; Abdellatif Benabdelhafid

This paper describes a system for the integration of different logistic chain actors. The proposed system exploits the open Internet standards and is based on connection model between Logistic system users and service providers. The Integrated Logistics Information System (ILIS) concerns global logistics and involves interrogating information relating to production means, storage points and means of transport. We study in this paper the problematic of communication inter-and intra-company functions in the ILIS context. By using UML propose a hierarchical model to integrate the different Actors of Logistic chain. By exploiting the open Internet standards we present a services providers platform based on web service approach.

SOAP based system for integration in the logistic chain

Mounir Benaissa; Abdellatif Benabdelhafid

The Integrated Logistics Information System (ILIS) relates global logistics and involves the integration of information relating to production means, storage points and means of transport. This can be done using computing tools such as GroupWare applications. Interconnections on a large scale in an environment of heterogeneous networks and machines requires a high level of interoperability. This paper describes an open-architecture system for the integration of shop-floor in the logistic chain. The proposed system exploits the open Internet standards and is based on connection model between Logistic system users and service providers, through an intermediate platform called PEGASE. Real time Information delivered by shop-floor is stored in the corresponding service databases. Periodically, this information is transmitted to Logistic system. The access rights to monitor/control, operator system(s), retrieve historical data and configure operation parameters are granted to several types of users based on their authorization level.

Risk assessment of hazard material transportation using FMECA approach: Case study in a Tunisian company

Mohamed Haykal Ammar; Mounir Benaissa; Habib Chabchoub

A supply chain is a set of economic elements cooperating together to achieve the same objectives. Riskiness being the main obstacle in supply chains, companies needs to pay attention to risk management. It is the nature of the business activity that determines the degree of required risk management. For example, risk management is one of the pillars of activities related to hazardous materials or nuclear energy. In keeping with that context, this paper presents a literature review on hazard material transportation and then a study case. Risks were analyzed using the Failure Mode, Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) with data coming from a Tunisian company. The results show that the potential effects of the majority of these risks are catastrophic.

Intelligent Traceability System of Containerized Goods

Mourad Abed; Imen Charfeddine; Mounir Benaissa; Marta Starostka-Patyk

In recent year, many countries across in the world have made traceability a compulsory procedure in the Supply Chain. The Supply Chain is distributed collaborative environments involves the acquisition and use of extensive informational and physical flows. The flows management seems a complex task for the actors of the multimodal transport chain which the transport is the major driver in a Supply Chain. The literature reviews throws light on the traceability in the Supply Chain Management (SCM) shows the lack of interoperability and flexibility in data management systems hinders the work of traceability. And it introduces the importance and complexity of multimodal transport operations. To ensure effective traceability all along this chain, we relied on the agent paradigm and the ontology which facilitate the integration of goods data in order to exploit and reuse. Indeed, to ensure communication and interoperability of these data we relied on Multi-Agent Systems, due to their characteristics of autonomy, sociability and responsiveness that are generally associated. The Multi-Agent Systems can build flexible systems whose behaviors are complex and complicated due to the combination of different types of agents. With a focus on the importance of the concept of the traceability, the objective of this work is to propose an intelligent system for the traceability of containerized goods in the context of multimodal transport: Intelligent Traceability System of Containerized Goods (i-TSCG).

A production model to reduce Batch dispersion and optimize traceability

Lobna Kallel; Mounir Benaissa

Traceability is a needed strategic service in any production context. It can be used to improve security, control quality, manage complex chains, minimize recalls, limit incurred risk and reassure consumers. In this paper the problem of minimizing the quantity of recall and the number of batches constituting a given finished product is treated, when products are characterized by a 4-level “disassembling and assembling” bill of material. A mathematical Mixed Integer Linear Programming model (MILP) is proposed and the results of experiments obtained with CPLEX software are presented.

Reverse Logistics Network Problem using simulated annealing with and without Priority-algorithm

Mounir Benaissa; Ilhem Slama; Mohamed Mahjoub Dhiaf

In recent years, Reverse Logistics (RL) has become a field of importance for all organizations due to growing environmental concerns, legislation, corporate social responsibility and sustainable competitiveness. In Reverse logistics, the used or returned products are collected after their acquisition and inspected for sorting into the different categories. The next step is to disposition them for repair, remanufacturing, recycling, reuse or final disposal. Manufacturers may adopt reverse logistics by choice or by force, but they have to decide whether performing the activities themselves or outsourcing to a third party (Martin et al., 2010). Lourenço et al., (2003) described three main areas of improvement within the RL process. Firstly, companies can reduce the level of returns through the analysis of their causes. Secondly, they can work on the improvement of the return’s process and, thirdly, they can create value from the returns. This paper considers the multistage reverse Logistics Network Problem (mrLNP) proposed by Lee et al., (2008). With minimizing the total of costs to reverse logistics shipping cost. We will demonstrate the mrLNP model will be formulated as a three-stage logistics network model. Since such network design problems belong to the class of NP-hard problems we propose a Simulated Annealing (SA) and simulated annealing with priority (priSA) with special neighborhood search mechanisms to find the near optimal solution consisting of two stages. Computer simulations show the several numerical examples by using, SA, priSA and priGA(Genetic algorithm with priority-based encoding method) and effectiveness of the proposed method.

SADAUDIT for auditing procurement logistics information systems

Maroi Agrebi; Mounir Benaissa; Mourad Abed

In todays market circumstances, the important critical element for the competitiveness and the success of the organization is adequately managing logistics information systems with the organizations goals. That is why there is a growing concern on the part of organizations on the issue of logistics information systems audit. In this paper, we adopt a methodology for auditing logistics information systems, in case of information systems of procurement logistics. This approach is based on a multi-criteria hierarchical tree and is built around a decision support system called SADAUDIT. The approach presented in this paper has been applied in a real-life setting in order to audit their procurement logistics information systems. The results obtained are in favor of the robustness of the approach.

A Decision Support System Proposal in a reverse logistic environment

Nihed Rebai; Abdellatif Benabdelhafid; Mounir Benaissa

Health care activities wastes are produced every day, but unfortunately not much has been said about it. Health care activities lead to the production of wastes that can have adverse health effects. The rigorous management of their elimination is now necessary because it can cause risks to the ecosystem. The reverse logistics mission is to manage the waste from the collection step to the treatment step. The choice of the right solution to treat health care activity wastes is a completely complicated operation. In front of this embarrassing variety of choices, we will be presenting a Decision Support System Proposal (DSS) which helps us to identify wastes and suggests methods to solutions treatments.
