The awareness on cash waqf and the willingness to endow are imperative for the sustainability of the awqaf mechanism. In fact, waqf institutions have taken serious effort to promote waqf financing instrument in order to enhance the awareness and participation of the society. The awareness and the willingness to endow towards cash waqf in Malaysia is still lagging behind compared to other countries like Indonesia and Middle Eastern countries. Thus, in understanding the background of cash waqf endowers, this paper presents the demography and socio-economic profiles of frequent cash waqf cash waqf endower. Survey questionnaire have been distributed to 400 respondents using random sampling and 345 are valid. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. The findings of this study show that 55 percent of the respondents had an intention to endow cash waqf continuity is more common among married males of 36 to 40 years old. And live in rural area. Meanwhile, the socio-economic background of respondents shows that continuous cash waqf endowers were mostly graduate professionals and management workers who received formal Islamic education in university and earned between RM 1501-RM3000 monthly. These findings provide some insights of the potential continuous cash waqf endower’s profile which might be beneficial to waqf agencies in accumulating waqf contribution in Malaysia.

Over the past decades, Islamic banking has gained a worldwide recognition. Started among Muslim countries in order to cater for the Shariah compliance banking needs of Muslims, it has now become widespread throughout the world. In Malaysia, the players in the Islamic banking industries are the local Islamic banks and recently a few foreign Islamic banks have shown interests and started their operation in this country. Internet has become a very powerful tool to disseminate information and this phenomenon has been fully utilized by Islamic banks in order to send their message to their current and potential customers. This exploratory study aims to evaluate the design and content of Islamic banks websites in Malaysia and also to compare the cumulative strengths and weaknesses in terms of website design and content between local and foreign Islamic banks in Malaysia. Suggestions for future research directions conclude the report.

The institution of Waqf has played a significant role of providing opportunities in sharing the government’s fiscal needs and improving the communities and nation welfare throughout Islamic history. Waqf have a potential to became one of the important devices regarding the socioeconomics realms in Muslim societies which will benefit the communities in term of education, health care, national security, transportation facilities, basic infrastructure, foods and job opportunities. The main objective of the current study is to explore the conceptual framework in improving the share waqf and identifies the uniqueness of the share waqf in Malaysia. In addition this study is to investigate the contribution of this type of share towards communities and nation welfare. The methodology of this study is a qualitative research based on the document analysis of relevant references. The interesting finding of this study indicates that the proper implementation of share waqf is very useful in developing the economic well-being of the communities and nation.

The institution of waqf has played its role in poverty alleviation and socioeconomic development through history, especially in the Islamic history. Until today, this institution still plays an important role especially in Muslim countries. Still, there are many potential mechanisms in order to make it more effective to alleviate poverty. Cash waqf is a trust fund established with money to support services for mankind’s benefits in the name of Allah. The gifted capital was “transferred” to borrowers for certain period, which was then spent for all sorts of pious and social purposes inclusive for the investment objectives. It is recognized that there is no ample study in the area of cash waqf especially for managing the waqf fund. Therefore, the study for the management of cash waqf fund is essential in order for the fund to be use efficiently. The objective of this article is to examine relationship between level of income and appointment of agent in collecting waqf fund. The methodology of this research is a quantitative research towards 231 respondents among Muslim public in Malaysia. The general finding of this article shows that, with proper contribution method and the appointment of Islamic waqf bank an agent in collecting the cash waqf fund, there is a strong tendency that the Islamic waqf bank’s operation will be run effectively.
