ABSTRACT This research aimed to examine the impact of using mobile-supported learning management systems (LMS) in teaching web design on the academic success of students and their opinion on the course; and it was conducted on 70 volunteer students (35 experimental, 35 control) enrolled at Giresun University, Technical Sciences Vocational School, Computer Technologies Department, Program of Computer Programming in Spring 2015–2016. After the eight weeks long implementation of Mobile Moodle, which is a mobile-supported LMS, as a supplement to traditional learning methods; t-test was used in order to determine whether the methodology mentioned had a significant impact on the academic success of web design teaching. As a result of the t-test implemented; it was seen that there was a significant level of difference in favor of the experimental group; between the academic success of students in the experimental group where mobile-supported LMS is used and the academic success of the students in the control group where traditional learning methodologies are used. Also, it has been determined that using Mobile LMS has increased the students’ interest.

ABSTRACT This study is aimed at determining the opinions of prospective teachers about developed E-book for history course and its use. This research is a quantitative study which is modelled based on the analysis of the opinions of students about the particular e-book they used. The participants of the study consisted of 80 voluntary students studying in the Department of Pre-school Education at the Atatürk Education Faculty at Near East University. The study group consisted of students who were enrolled in the Ataturk Principles and History of Turkish Revolution (APHTR) course given via distance learning. At the beginning of the semester; students were informed about e-books, then the APHTR E-book was presented visually, students were informed about how to use it and the e-book was distributed to the students. At the end of the semester; a survey about the opinions of prospective teachers related with the developed e-book and its use was administered to the students. According to the results, it was revealed that the perception levels of the prospective teachers related with the e-book and its use were generally positive; it would make a positive contribution to distance education and would also provide support for formal education.

ABSTRACT The goal of this study is to develop a comprehensive scale for marital adjustment and to determine its psychometric properties. The Near East Marital Adjustment Scale (NEMAS), a Likert-type scale with 51 items, was formed based on the definition of factors related with marital adjustment and related literature. The NEMAS, Marital Satisfaction Scale (MSS), Dyadic Relations Scale (DRS), Revised Dyadic Adjustment Scale (RDAS) and Interpersonal Reactivity Index (IRI) were applied to 279 married people working at various workplaces in North Cyprus. Two items of the scale had low item-total correlations, two other had low factor load values and the other five items had factor loads on more than one factor; therefore, a total of nine items were excluded from the scale and the final form of the scale was formed from 42 items. In terms of the reliability, the NEMAS Cronbach’s alpha coefficient was .94 , item-total correlations were between .290 and .733, item analysis (t-test) t-values were significant (p<0.001) and there was a strong correlation between the first half and final half of the scale (r=.893). Expert opinions were taken for content validity of the scale and, for criterion validity, highly significant relations were found between the scores of the participants from NEMAS and MSS, DRS, RDAS, MPSS, IRI. For construct validity, factor analysis by applying varimax orthogonal rotation showed four factors explaining 48. 36 percent of total variance. When the content of the items at each factor was taken into consideration, the first factor was named ‘marital satisfaction’, the second ‘marital communication’, the third ‘empathy in marriage’ and the fourth was ‘relations with the families’. NEMAS has four factors, where each factor can be given separately and can also be used as one factor. It is shown that NEMAS is a reliable and valid instrument for married individuals. The scale can be used for evaluating marital adjustment of married individuals, to determine problem areas in the marriage, in studies about marital adjustment and for marital counselling services. Besides these, it meets a need in the field by evaluating communication and empathy in marriage.

ABSTRACT In this research, a general survey model was used with the purpose of determining the opinions of the students attending the Faculty of Education at a private university in Northern Cyprus on the subject of cyber bullying. The participants of this research consisted of 200 students studying in in this faculty for the 2016-17 academic year. Also, a questionnaire developed by the researcher was used to obtain opinions. As a result of the analyses conducted, it has been determined that approximately half of the students were bullied online and, when cyber bullying occurred, nearly half of the students did not tell their parents. The students claimed that they found it easier to speak to their teachers than their parents. It was understood that they found it easier to talk with their friends if they experienced cyber bullying behaviours, rather than their teachers.

ABSTRACT The purpose of this research is to determine students’ perceptions regarding “Geometric Objects” unit. In this study, mixed method was used as a research model since both qualitative and quantitative research methods were used. Content analysis, which is among qualitative research methods, was used in the research. The sample of the research consists of 8th grade students who study in 6 different secondary schools affiliated to the Ministry of National Education of Northern Cyprus in 2016-2017 academic years. The “Perception Scale regarding the Geometric Objects Unit” developed by the researchers, was used as a data collection tool. As a result of the research, the perceptions of the students about the geometric objects were collected in 3 different categories. These are teacher, student, and geometric objects. It is seen that perceptions belonging to these ca tegories are mostly evaluated as “Sometimes” and that many items are collected under the teacher factor.

Abstract This study aims to assess the student’s opinion about counseling services in the primary schools of North Cyprus. This study used survey method for collecting data and testing the proposed research model. Within the scope of this research, the school counseling and guidance services scale was applied to 512 fifth year students in all primary schools, where counseling services were available and provided the data based on the student opinion. The results showed that primary school students found the guidance service at a sufficient level in general. The students found the psychological consultation at an absolutely sufficient level. Students mentioned that the least sufficient factor is the guidance and placement service. However, the students who were familiar with the counselor and whose parents had received services from the counselor individually had a high level perception on the sufficiency level of the counseling services at school.

Abstract In the anthropological didactic teaching method, knowledge is passed to the students throughindividuals and institutions, which generates problems that may result in multiple misunderstandings in mathematicalteaching. These misconceptions become apparent in mathematics lessons as common mistakes. The purpose ofthis study is to identify teachers’ views regarding the common mistakes made during problem-solving in mathematicsand whether the constructivist approach is thought to be a solution. The study group consisted of 30 primaryschool teachers teaching in both state and private schools in Northern Cyprus. The data of the current study wascollected through face-to-face interviews with those teachers. All the teachers who participated in the study hadsupportive and positive answers concerning the common mistakes made during problem-solving in mathematicsand considered that the constructivist approach could be a solution.
