In this study, the subject is to determine the body measurements of a Holstein cow from its photographs with image analysis. For this operation, an environment for taking the photograph, a platform and 18 points with certain coordinates were prepared. Afterwards, the photos of a Holstein cow was taken on the platform by a Nikon D100 CCD camera from various directions. The photos were analyzed by PhotoModeler 5 software. The results of this image analysis were compared to real results that were previously measured. It was found out that the real measurements and measurements obtained from photos are close to each other which shows that this method can be safely used

The preservation of historical artifacts and documents is a common problem of all humankind. It is of great importance to record these artifacts which have beenmajorly damaged or disappeared due to various disasters or due to lack of care and indifference. Various techniques are used in documenting these artifacts called “cultural heritage”. The method widely used today in this regard is digital terrestrial photogrammetry. The Kayseri-Sahabiye Madrasa was built in 1267 by Ata Fahrettin Ali, the vizier of the Seljuks. Photogrammetric measuruments of the madrasa were performed using digital terrestrial photogrammetry method. With this method, roleve studies can be done in a short time without heavy cost. Historical and cultural heritages can be archived digitally, and three dimensional models can be obtained.

Cultural heritages are the history of the nations, and history forms the identities of the nations. Therefore, protection of cultural heritages means protection of the history and identity of the nations. Identification of the current status of cultural heritages is important for documentation, preservation, and for use as a base for restoration. Documentation studies need robust and scientific methods. GIS and photogrammetry have recently been the most commonly used scientific methods for documenting cultural heritages. In documentation studies, digital terrestrial photogrammetry is one of the main methods of processing information of historical monuments on computers according to GIS and documenting it in three dimensions. In this study for documentation, all data of 46 historical monuments located in Silifke/Mersin were collected and transferred to a database so that it is made queryable. Some of those heritages were reconstructed as 3D models by the use of photogrammetric techniques. Finally, 3D Models were integrated into the system for presentation.

In this study, the effect of number of picture taking on precision was investigated and non-metric digital camera was used. In the study, triplet convergent picture taking and sestet convergent picture taking were compared. As a result of the study carried out, It was observed that the number of picture taking station is more did not provide an important improvement in metric accuracy and, instead, it was concluded that picture taking geometry, which will cover the object to be measured in a good way, would be enough.

OBJECTIVE Stereophotogrammetry (SPT) is a method in which three-dimensional coordinates are calculated from multiple two-dimensional projections. The purpose of this study was to compare the surface area changes between the secondary healing and grafting vestibuloplasty techniques in the mandible by using a stereophotogrammetric technique (SPT). PATIENTS AND METHODS Thirteen patients were included in this study: six patients were managed by using full-thickness skin or palatal mucosa grafts (two full-thickness palatal mucosal grafts and four full-thickness skin grafts); the remaining seven patients, who did not accept a second surgery for graft harvesting, underwent secondary epithelization vestibuloplasties. Postoperative changes of surgical areas were measured by using SPT. STATISTICAL ANALYSES The Wilcoxon (intragroup comparisons) and Mann-Whitney U (intergroup comparisons) tests were used for analysis of data. RESULTS In the grafting vestibuloplasty group, the surface area gain was statistically significant (P < 0.05). In the secondary epithelization vestibuloplasty group, there was no significant difference (P > 0.05), with even decrease of surface area being noted in some cases. CONCLUSION SPT is a valid method for measurement of intraoral soft tissue changes.
