Unsymmetric tridentate ligands, 4-methyl-2,6-di(4-methyliminomethyl)phenol (HL1), 4-(t-butyl)-2,6-di(4-methylphenyliminomethyl)phenol (HL2), 2,6-di(4-bromophenyliminomethyl)-4-methylphenol (HL3), 2,6-di(4-bromophenyliminomethyl)-4-(t-butyl)phenol (HL4), 2,6-di(4-hydroxyphenyliminomethyl)-4-methylphenol (HL5) and 4-(t-butyl)-2,6-di(4-hydroxyphenyliminomethyl)phenol (HL6), and their binuclear CuII, CoII and NiII complexes were synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, FT-IR, u.v.-vis spectrometry magnetic moments, 1H(13C)-n.m.r. and mass spectral data. Also, the electrical conductivities of the complexes have been measured using 10-3 M solutions in MeCN. The complexes are weak electrolytes. In the electronic spectra of the complexes of the HL1-HL6 ligands, the 480-410 nm band has been determined as the charge-transfer band. While the HL5 and HL6 ligands have five potential donor atoms, other ligands have only three. Protonation constants of the ligands have been studied in dioxan-water mixtures. In addition, the antimicrobial properties of the ligands and their metal complexes have been studied:Bacillus megaterium, Micrococcus luteus, Corynebavterium xenosis, Enterococcus faecalis, bacteria and Saccoramyces cerevisia, yeast. The keto-enol tautomeric equilibria of the ligands have been investigated in polar and non-polar solvents.

A new series of the polydentate Schiff base CuII, CoII, NiII, PdII and ZnII complexes derived from ethylenediamine (eda), diethylenetriamine (dea) and tris(2-aminoethyl)amine (taa) have been prepared by template condensation in MeOH solution, and characterized by i.r., electronic spectral data, elemental analyses, conductivity and magnetic measurements. The 1H- and 13C-n.m.r. and mass spectral data of the NiII, PdII and ZnII complexes have been recorded. In all complexes, some of the chloride ions coordinate to the metal ions. From conductivity measurements, it is shown that the complexes are electrolytes. The NiII, PdII and ZnII complexes have diamagnetic character. In this study, the Schiff base CuII and CoII complexes have sub-normal magnetic moments commensurate with their binuclear or tetranuclear nature. Some show antimicrobial activity against bacteria and yeast.

This study focuses on the photoluminescence properties of loracarbef (LOR) ligand and its (Zn(LOR) (H2O)(Cl))Cl, (Cd(LOR)(H2O)(Cl))Cl, (Ni(LOR)(H2O)(Cl))Cl, (Pd(LOR)(H2O)(AcO))AcO and (Pt(LOR)(H2O)(Cl))Cl complexes. LOR and the resulting metal complexes gave an intense emission (where max = 376 nm) upon irradiation by Ultra-Violet light. The photoluminescence quantum yields and long excited-state lifetimes of the ligand and its complexes were calculated. The LOR ligand has a photoluminescence quantum yield of 52% and long excited-state lifetime of 4.88 ns. The photoluminescence intensities and quantum yields of the metal complexes dramatically reduced with respect to that of the LOR ligand upon complexation with various metals. The structures of new complexes were characterized using spectroscopic techniques including FT-IR, electronic spectra, 1 H-NMR and mass spectral data. In addition, all complexes were screened for antibacterial activity against several bacteria and yeasts, and results were compared with those of LOR.

Heating costs in winter and in summer cooling costs in the world is very high. To reduce heating costs in winter and cooling costs in summer are building insulation. Although sunflower production in Turkey carried out a significant amount, however they emerged after the production of sunflower stem is a serious problem for farmers. Sunflower stem from farm houses to be cleaned or burned or used for temporary heating purposes. This type of use is causing serious problems in the environment. Sunflower stalk, cotton textile waste, such as stubble, and a composite material produced by evaluating the landfill waste. This is considered to be important in terms of heating costs. TS 825 predicted to be material factor insulation than 0.1 must be in small. In press load increase, a portion of the linker and an amount of escaping out of the connector in the mold with respect to the binder mixture dragging causes impoverishment and the binder being dropped. Set out in the findings, research materials selected sunflower stalk, cotton - textile wastes and stubble shows that it is possible to produce insulation materials enough to mix it with epoxy.

Bu calismada, Kahramanmaras’ta bulunan tekstil fabrikalarinda atik olarak cikan ve “ klima toz ”u (APVD) olarak adlandirilan seluloz icerikli iplik olmaya elverissiz pamuk lifleri degerlendirilmistir. Bu amacla, ilk olarak atik klima tozu musluk suyu ile yigin halinde yikanarak % 17,5’luk NaOH ile 90 o C’de pisirilmistir. Bu yigin kurutulmadan NaOH ve H 2 O 2 ile 90 o C’de agartilmistir. Sonra elde edilen seluloz NaOH ile soguk ortamda merserize edilmistir. Daha sonra selulozunun, propilenoksit (PO) ve metilklorur ile heterojen reaksiyonundan, yuksek (HPMC-H), orta (HPMC-M) ve dusuk (HPMC-L) subsitasyon derecesine sahip uc farkli hidroksipropilmetil seluloz (HPMC) sentezlen-mistir. Sentezlenen HPMC’lerin yapilari FT-IR ve XRD spektroskopisi ile aydinlatilarak DTA-TG ile termal davranislari, SEM ile yuzey morfolojileri incelenmistir. HPMC orneklerinin viskoziteleri tayin edilip en yuksek deger 820 cP olarak bulunmustur.

Atık patates nişastası (WPS) gıda endüstrisinde patates cipsi üreten (sulu ortamda soyularak dilimlendiği aşamada patates nişastası ayrılmaktadır) işletmelerden temin edildi. NaOH ve H2O2 ile temizlendikten sonra modifiye atık patates nişastası (MWPS ) elde etmek için HCl ile hidroliz edildi. MWPS’lerin yapıları FTIR ve XRD ile karakterize edildi. DTA-TG ile termal davranışları ve SEM görüntüleri ile yüzey morfolojileri incelenerek viskoziteleri tayin edildi. Bunlara ilaveten MWPS örnekleri ile bobin kartonları üst üste getirilerek yapıştırıldı ve ticari yapıştırma ürünleri ile karşılaştırıldı. Yapışma mukavemetinde en iyi sonuç 12,3 MPa olarak, 1,0 M HCl ile hidrolizinden sentezlenen MWPS örneğinden elde edilmiştir.

In this study, Ayvali surface water, Pinarbasi and Karasu spring water have been investigated according to the quality of drinking water on the basis of TSE 266 standard in months of 2014. In this regard, pH and turbidity were examinated for a period of 8 months. Nitrite, nitrat, iron, mangan, chlorine, ammonia, fluoride, lead, aluminium, copper, zinc, boron, cobalt, nickel, cadmium, chromium, mercury, barium and nitrogen were analysed in December 2014. Bacteriological analyses, such as fecal coliform, Escherichia coli and total coliform were examinated by membrane filtration method. All samples were carried out determination of permanganate by titrimetric method. According to the obtained results, the turbidity values of samples collected from all three sources were under 2 NTU and the color parameters of the limit values were below the standard. As a result of the analyses of the samples from all three sources it have been seen that the amounts of metal ions were monitored below the standart. Total hardness (calcium + magnesium) amount was within the limit values of the water source, although it was understood that the water enters into medium hardness in French hardness class. In terms of bacteriological analyses free chlorine in water samples at a level of 0.5 ppm, the source did not contain coliform bacteria. According to these data, physical, chemical and bacteriological characteristics of drinking water were understood it was suitable for World Health Organization drinking water standarts (WHO) and TS-266 standards in terms of quality parameters compared to water which was agreeabled to human consumption.

Tekstil endustrisi atik sularinin onemli parametrelerinden biri olan renktir. Atik sulardaki boyarmaddeler isik gecirgenligini ve fotosentetik aktiviteyi azaltarak cozunmus oksijen konsantrasyonunu dusurmektedir. Bu atik sularin aritimi, yuksek konsantrasyonda boyar madde, tekstil yardimci kimyasallari ve kompleks yapida bilesikler icerdiginden oldukca zor ve problemli bir hal almaktadir. Bu yuzden boyar madde ihtiva eden atik sularin aritimi adsorpsiyon, kimyasal ve fotooksidasyon gibi ileri aritma teknikleri kullanilarak yapilmaktadir. Bu calismada, FeSO 4 , FeCl 3 , PAC ve PFAC koagulantlari ile APA floklastiricisi yaninda APN ve CMPS’nin yardimci koagulant etkisi arastirilarak, sure, hiz, pH ve miktar optimizasyonu yapilmistir. FeCl 3 ve APN’nin birlikte kullanilarak yapilan renk giderimi calismalarinda 0,084 absorbans degeri ile en iyi sonuc elde edilmistir. Boylece, tekstil fabrikasinda nisasta icerikli hasil yikama atik suyunun aritma tesisine iletilmesi renk giderimi uzerine etkili olacaktir. Aritmada kullanilan kimyasallarin yaninda APN veya CMPS’nin bulunmasi, yuksek verimdeki renk giderimini daha ekonomik kilacaktir.

Bu calismada seluloz iceren tekstil atiklarindan geri donusumle seluloz ve nitroseluloz elde edilerek ulke ekonomisine kazandirilmasi hedeflenmistir. Bu amacla tekstil fabrikalarinda ekonomik degeri olmayan seluloz icerigi oldukca yuksek “klima toz”u diye tabir edilen atiklar degerlendirilmistir. Bu atiklar oncelikle NaOH ile pisirilip ardindan NaOH/H 2 O 2 karisiminda agartilmistir. Safsizliklarindan arindirilan seluloz, degisik surelerde ve oranlarda H 2 SO 4 /HNO 3 karisimda nitrolanarak Nitro Seluloz (NS) veya Seluloz Nitrat elde edilmistir. Sentezlenen nitro selulozun yapisi FTIR ile aydinlatilarak, yuzey morfolojileri SEM ile termal bozunmalari DSC analizleri ile incelenmistir. Nitrolamada en yuksek verim, 70 ve 60 mL HNO 3 ile 30 ve 40 mL H 2 SO 4 karisiminda nitrolanan NS-1.3 ve NS-1.4 nolu orneklerde gozlenmistir. Azot icerigine bagli olarak nitroseluloz, plastikler (seluloid), vernikler, yapistiricilar ve patlayicilarin (dumansiz barut, dinamit) yapiminda kullanilmaktadir.
