Three saikosaponins were isolated from the MeOH extract of the roots of Bupleurum falcatum L.: saikosaponins B3 (1); B4 (2); and D (3). Of the three, compound 3 inhibited the interaction of selectins (E, L, and P) and THP-1 cells with IC50 values of 1.8, 3.0 and 4.3 µM, respectively. Also, the aglycone structure 4 of compound 3 showed moderate inhibitory activity on L-selectin-mediated cell adhesion. From these results, we suspect that compound 3 isolated from Bupleurum falcatum roots would be a good candidate for therapeutic strategies to treat inflammation.

This study was carried out to elucidate suitable wavelength of light during development of fruit body in Lentinula edodes. The four colors of LED(Light Emitting Diode), blue, green, red and yellow, were irradiated for formation of fruit-body. The effect of color of LED at all growth stage, the lightness of cap showed darker in blue and green LED irradiation than that of red and yellow LED. The longer stipe were resulted in longer wavelength. And the activity of anti-oxidant did not showed big differences according to LED wavelength. We obtained higher commercial yields and lower ratio of abnormal fruit body in green LED than those in control(fluorescent lamp).

This study was carried out to obtain morphological and physiological characteristics of ear mushrooms for an artificial cultivation. Eighteen strains were cultivated with bag culture and classified into mainly five groups such as brown, black, white, purple and others group. The highest yield was shown in 43007 strain as 98.3 g/bag and 43009, 43016, 43025 and 44035 strains were more than 60 g/bag. Among collected strains, 43007, 43009 and 43035 were selected in this study as superior strains. Three selected strains were investigated for optimal mycelial growth conditions. MCM and GPYM media were selected for the favorable culture medium. The carbon sources of 43007, 43009 and 43035 on mycelial growth were maltose, fructose and glucose, respectively and peptone was selected as a nitrogen source. Highest mycelial growth was observed when the C/N ratio was 10 for 43007 and 20 for 43009 and 43035.

ABSTRACT : We aim at providing consumers and farmers with various parts of mushrooms through development of new mushroom cultivation. For the mass artificial cultivation, we elucidated suitable environment conditions of Neolentinus lepideus . The results were summarized as follows. For the efficient cultivation of N. lepideus , temperature of mycelial growth and development of the fruit body were suitable 20~23℃ and 20 ℃ , respectively. KEYWORDS : Bag culture, Growth temperature, Neolentinus lepideus * Corresponding author 서 론 우리나라의 버섯 재배면적은 1995년 이후 증가되지 않고 있으나 생산량은 꾸준히 증가하고 있어 기존 재배버섯의 가격하락 추세가 지속되고 있는 실정이며, 이에 수출확대, 가공품개발, 기능성이용기술 개발 등 가격하락에 대한 대응전략을 마련 중이고, 또한 기존 재배버섯과 차별화된 새로운 버섯의 개발로 소품목 틈새시장 개척을 통한 농가 신소득원을 창출하기 위해 새로운 버섯의 재배방법을 개발하고 있다. 잣버섯은 향기가 우수하고 식미감이 뛰어나 고급식재료로의 가능성이 인정되며, 기존 버섯시장의 신수요 시장을 개척하고 새로운 소득원을 개발하기 위해 매우 유망한 품목으로 인정되고 있다. 그러나 재배법이 확립되어 있지 않아 현재 농가에 보급 되는 단계에 이르지 못하였다. 최근 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해 지속적인 연구가 진행되고 있으며, 이 등(2010)은 PCR 다형성 분석에 의한 한국산 잣버섯의 유전적 다양성 및 유연 관계에 대한 연구를 통해 수집균주들의 특성을 조사하였고, 장 등(2010)은 잣버섯 재배를 위한 선행조건인 종균제조방법을 개발하여 액체 및 톱밥종균을 사용할 수 있게 되었으며, 2011년 봉지재배를 위한 적합 영양원을 선발하였다(장, 2011). 그러나 자실체 발생 및 안정생산을 위한 생육환경조건이 구명되어 있지 않아 적정 생육온도를 구명함으로써 안정재배 생산기반을 조성 하고자 본 연구를 수행하였다.

In this study, we attempted to find alternative materials to rice bran (Japonica in Korea) such as rice bran pellet (Indica in Pakistan), corn distillers dried grains with solubles, sesame oil meal, and kapok meal for bottle cultivation of Pleurotus eryngii. Among all treatments, the total carbon content of the mixed substrate was the highest in T1 and the total nitrogen content was the highest in T4. The C/N ratio of T2 was comparable to that of the control and was higher than that of other treatments. The diameter of the pileus was the largest in T1 and T2, and the length of the stipe was the largest in T1 and T2. The yield and bio-efficiency of the fruit body were higher in T2 than in the other treatments, and were similar to that of the control plot. Therefore, the findings of our study suggest that rice bran pellet (Indica in Pakistan) could be a suitable alternative to rice bran (Japonica in Korea) for the cultivation of P. eryngii.

A new method to utilize spent mushroom substrates (SMS) for ethanol production was investigated. Analysis of the chemical properties of SMS revealed that they were decomposed by the mushrooms during cultivation. In particular, the free sugar content in SMS was reduced to half of that in mushrooms. Of the tested SMS, the Pleurotus eryngii SMS was determined to be suitable for saccharification. Upon pretreatment with a 1% alkaline solution, Pleurotus eryngii SMS achieved 80.7% of its maximum saccharification ratio. The optimum pretreatment conditions for enzyme saccharification were 1% NaOH solution at 120° for 60 min. Further studies are required to determine ethanol production using Pleurotus eryngii SMS.

We aim to elucidate suitable mixed color of light during development of fruit body in Pleurotus ostreatus. The four mixed color of LED(Light Emitting Diode), blue and white, green and white, blue and green and green and red LED, were irradiated for formation of fruit-body. First, as effect of mixed color of LED, the properties of fruit body of P. ostreatus in blue and white LED irradiation were showed higher commercial yields than those in control(fluorescent lamp). And the ergothioneine was the highest at the blue and white LED. Second, we could obtain higher commercial yields than those at the 1 μmol/m2/s of light intensity by blue and white LED in P. ostreatus.

This study was carried out to find out suitable input method for air exchange about bottle cultivation of oyster mushroom. There was no difference of average temperature in cultivation room, but T1(direct introduction of outside air) was higher than T2(heat exchanger) and T3(air buffer) in the standard deviation. The ratio of cooling operating was the highest in August and in the descending order, T1 54%, T3 43%, T2 33%. At ratio of energy reduction, T2 and T3 were higher than T1. The operating ratio of heater was highest in January and in the descending order, T1 53%, T3 37%, T2 30%. At ratio of energy reduction(%), T2 and T3 were higher than T1 similar to result of cooling operating. Therefore there were largest in August about Cooling Degree-Hour and in January about Heating Degree-Hour. And fruitbody yields quality was excellent in T2 and T3 than T1. The suitable effective type of air exchange in oyster mushroom cultivation are heat exchange and air buffer system.
