The present study examines the performance of a single zone building integrated with PV Trombe wall (PV-TW) in term of thermal load reduction and electrical energy production by varying PV Glazing types (i.e. Single Glazing, Double glazing, Double glazing filled with gas (Argon)). TRNSYS software is used for simulation in which inputs like climatic conditions, building construction details, thermal properties of materials, detail of PV-TW and orientation of building is inserted. By comparing the results of all three types of glazing it is found that PV Double glazing filled with argon shows significant reduction in mean air duct temperature, hence reduces the PV cell temperature and increases power production of PV panel. Also solar radiation captured by massive wall of PV-TW is reduced by using PV Double glazing filled with argon as compared to other types of glazing, which further reduces thermal load inside the building.

This work presents the load carrying capacity of partially textured journal bearing with trapezoidal recess. The partial texture geometry is composed of a number of successive cells of trapezoidal recess and land configurations. The non-dimensional pressure expressions for the partially textured journal bearing with trapezoidal recess are derived. Results of nondimensional load capacity are provided taking into consideration of texture geometry with trapezoidal recess and extent of partial texture.

Winding pattern and contour are important factors in power inductors with multiple layer windings, since power inductors with multiple layers are prone to proximity effect, as multiple stacking increases the resistance stress of a conductor, eventually leading to failure of the inductor. This paper presents a comparison of winding losses for cone and square contour inductors, and discusses possible causes for the discrepancy. Conical contour inductors within a fixed core window are comparatively better than square contour winding inductors. A cross sectional analysis after winding revealed that the conical contour inductor has a gap between the conductors, indicating no melting and diffusion between layers. The absence of diffusion due to thermal degradation in conical contour winding is believed to be due to the conductor skin thickness, which is on average smaller, owing to the lower winding stresses. For a fixed dimension core and number of turns, winding losses can be reduced using a cone-shape contour compared to a square-shape contour

Thermal stress points in an inductor can cause insulation deterioration and ageing, leading to winding faults, while high magnetic flux causes interference. In this paper, the thermal and magnetic behaviors of inductors with different winding geometries are investigated using the Finite Element Method (FEM) based on 2-Dimension and 3-Dimension model of an inductor. Inductors with different winding geometries have different thermal envelopes and the geometry with the slowest thermal transition has fewer thermal stress points potentially reducing winding faults at the conductor. Furthermore, slow thermal transition would result in greater magnetic field coverage with no magnetic flux outside boundary of the inductor.
