Will histopathology survive in Pakistan? This is a question we have been forced to ask ourselves due to the disturbing events of the past few months.1 Since the general elections in February 2008 and induction of a civilian elected government, there has been a significant escalation in the war against terror being fought in Pakistan’s tribal areas, and the activities of militants have spread to the settled districts. Pakistanis themselves have suffered the most.
