Tetrahedron Letters | 1986

Novel oxidizing properties of p-methoxybenzenetellurinic acid anhydride

Nan Xing Hu; Yoshio Aso; Tetsuo Otsubo; Furnio Ogura

Abstract The title compound has proved to be a mild oxidizing agent like the corresponding telluroxide or tellurone towards thiol, phosphine, thioamide, thiourea, thionoester, and benzylic alcohol. In addition, it serves as a selective catalyst for the hydration of terminal alkyne.

Tetrahedron Letters | 1987

Cyclofunctionalization of hydroxyolefins induced by arenetellurinic anhydride

Nan Xing Hu; Yoshio Aso; Tetsuo Otsubo; Fumio Ogura

Abstract Arenetellurinic anhydride reacts with hydroxyolefins in acetic acid at reflux to give cyclic ethers bearing a phenyltelluro group. A mechanism via intramolecular oxytellurinylation with arenetellurinyl acetate is proposed.

Phosphorus Sulfur and Silicon and The Related Elements | 1988

NEW SYNTHETIC REACTIONS USING ARENETELLURINIC ANHYDRIDES

Nan Xing Hu; Yoshio Aso; Tetsuo Otsubo; Fumio Ogura

Abstract New synthetic reactions utilizing arenetellurinic acid anhydrides are described. The anhydrides proved to be very useful reagents for the transformation of various functional groups. Furthermore they induced various intramolecular cyclofunctionalizations to yield many oxygen and nitrogen heterocycles.

Journal of The Chemical Society-perkin Transactions 1 | 1989

Organotelluriums. Part 21. Amidotellurinylation of olefins and a novel one-pot synthesis of 4,5-dihydro-oxazoles from olefins

Nan Xing Hu; Yoshio Aso; Tetsuo Otsubo; Fumio Ogura

Benezenetellurinyl trifluoroacetate in the presence of boron trifluoride–diethyl ether effects ready amidotellurinylation of olefins in acetonitrile at room temperature. The resulting β-acetamidoalkyl phenyl telluroxides further suffer an in situ intramolecular substitution at 75 °C to give 4,5-dihydrooxazoles in high yields. These reactions are highly regio- and stereo-selective.

Bulletin of the Chemical Society of Japan | 1986

Polymer-supported diaryl selenoxide and telluroxide as mild and selective oxidizing agents.

Nan Xing Hu; Yoshio Aso; Tetsuo Otsubo; Fumio Ogura

Journal of Organic Chemistry | 1989

Organotelluriums. 20. Aminotellurinylation of olefins and its utilization for synthesis of 2-oxazolidinones

Nan Xing Hu; Yoshio Aso; Tetsuo Otsubo; Fumio Ogura

Journal of Organic Chemistry | 1989

Organotelluriums. 19. Cyclofunctionalization of hydroxy olefins induced by arenetellurinyl acetate

Nan Xing Hu; Yoshio Aso; Tetsuo Otsubo; Fumio Ogura

Chemistry Letters | 1985

Mild and selective oxidations with polystyrene-bound diaryl selenoxide.

Nan Xing Hu; Yoshio Aso; Tetsuo Otsubo; Fumio Ogura

Bulletin of the Chemical Society of Japan | 1988

Indirect electrolytic oxidation of thioamides using organotellurium as a mediator.

Toshiaki Matsuki; Nan Xing Hu; Yoshio Aso; Tetsuo Otsubo; Fumio Ogura

Chemistry Letters | 1990

Benzenetellurinic mixed anhydrides as mild oxidizing agents

Takahiro Fukumoto; Toshiaki Matsuki; Nan Xing Hu; Yoshio Aso; Tetsuo Otsubo; Fumio Ogura
