Deconvolution of the mercury 253.7 nm spectral line shape for the use in absorption spectroscopy

Natalia Zorina; G. Revalde; R. Disch

In this work we present measurement and results of the deconvolution of the Hg 253.7 nm spectral line shapes, emitted from the mercury isotope high-frequency electrodeless discharge lamps, made at the Institute of Atomic Physics and Spectroscopy for the use in Zeeman Atomic Absorption Spectrometry. The emission line profiles of 254 nm Hg resonance line have been measured by means of a Zeeman scanning spectrometer at the mercury cold spot temperature value at 20 C. Then the deconvolution procedure or solving of this ill-posed inverse problem by means of the Tikhonovs regularization method [1] was performed to obtain the real spectral line shape.

Measurements of SiO2 glass surface parameters by methods of microscopy

Eduards Gavars; Anda Svagere; Atis Skudra; Natalia Zorina; Raimonds Poplausks

In this research we compare chemical and plasma treatment methods for surface of SiO2 glass. For chemical treatment of surface tequila and alcohol were used but for plasma treatment - Ar+As and Ar+Se plasmas. Surface topography was analyzed using atomic force microscope. Comparison of chemical and plasma treatment methods shows that surface treated with plasma is smoother. Because of their various chemical compositions tequila and alcohol show different results.

Validation of the solution method using Tikhonov regularization algorithm for spectral line diagnostics of microsize plasma

Natalia Zorina; Gita Revalde; Atis Skudra

This paper is devoted obtaining the threshold of the credibility of the solution by means of Tikhonovs regularization method in case of spectral lines, emitted from microsize plasma sources. The reliability of Tikhonov algorithm was verified by means of solving model tasks with different ratio between instrumental function and measured profile and, with different levels of noise.
