A review on classification methods for solving fully fuzzy linear systems

Wan Suhana Wan Daud; Nazihah Ahmad; Khairu Azlan Abd Aziz

Fully Fuzzy Linear System (FFLS) exists when there are fuzzy numbers on both sides of the linear systems. This system is quite significant today since most of the linear systems play with uncertainties of parameters especially in mathematics, engineering and finance. Many researchers and practitioners used the FFLS to model their problem and they apply various methods to solve it. In this paper, we present the outcome of a comprehensive review that we have done on various methods used for solving the FFLS. We classify our findings based on parameters’ type used for the FFLS either restricted or unrestricted. We also discuss some of the methods by illustrating numerical examples and identify the differences between the methods. Ultimately, we summarize all findings in a table. We hope this study will encourage researchers to appreciate the use of this method and with that it will be easier for them to choose the right method or to propose any new method for solving the FFLS.

Deterministic SLIR model for tuberculosis disease mapping

Nazrina Aziz; Ijlal Mohd Diah; Nazihah Ahmad; Maznah Mat Kasim

Tuberculosis (TB) occurs worldwide. It can be transmitted to others directly through air when active TB persons sneeze, cough or spit. In Malaysia, it was reported that TB cases had been recognized as one of the most infectious disease that lead to death. Disease mapping is one of the methods that can be used as the prevention strategies since it can displays clear picture for the high-low risk areas. Important thing that need to be considered when studying the disease occurrence is relative risk estimation. The transmission of TB disease is studied through mathematical model. Therefore, in this study, deterministic SLIR models are used to estimate relative risk for TB disease transmission.

Operation on semi generalized open sets with its separation axioms

Baravan A. Asaad; Nazihah Ahmad

The aim of this paper is to introduce the concept of an operation γ on the class of all semi-generalized open sets in topological spaces. Using this operation, we define a new concept called semi-generalized-γ-open (sg-γ-open) sets and study some of their related properties. We found that the relation between this new concept and sg-open set are independent. In addition, we study some separation axioms called sg-γ-Ti for i = 0, 1, 2. Some basic properties and relations of these separation axioms are obtained.

Nurul Atikah Mohd Sharif; Norazura Ahmad; Nazihah Ahmad; Wan Laailatul Hanim Mat Desa

Integration of computerized system in healthcare management help in smoothening the documentation of patient records, highly accesses of knowledge and clinical practices guideline, and advice on decision making. Exploit the advancement of artificial intelligent such as fuzzy logic and rule-based reasoning may improve the management of emergency department in terms of uncertainty condition and medical practices adherence towards clinical guideline. This paper presenting details of the emergency department flow for acute asthma severity identification with the embedding of acute asthma severity identification expert system (AASIES). Currently, AASIES is still in preliminary stage of system validation. However, the implementation of AASIES in asthma bay management is hope can reduce the usage of paper for manual documentation and be a pioneer for the development of a more complex decision support system to smoothen the ED management and more systematic.

Enumeration Class of Polyominoes Defined by Two Column

Eman F. Mohommed; Haslinda Ibrahim; Nazihah Ahmad

Abacus diagram is a graphical representation for any partition μ of a positive integer t. This study presents the bead positions as a unite square in the graph and de ne a special type of e-abacus called nested chain abacus N which is represented by the connected partition. Furthermore, we redefined the polyominoes as a special type of e-abacus diagram. Also, this study reveals new method of enumerating polyominoes special design when e=2. Embedding the outer chain movement for main partition of β-number with length [1, 0, 0,…]

Eman F. Mohommed; Haslinda Ibrahim; Nazihah Ahmad; Ammar Seddiq Mahmood

One of the graphical representations for any partition of a non-negative integers in the modular representation theory of diagram algebra is James abacus using Beta numbers. In this work James abacus is divided positions into several chains. A new diagram Atco is introduced by employing on the outer chain with length [1, 0, 0,…] on the active James abacus. Finally a consecutive new diagram of b2, b3,…, be can be found from active diagram Atco which is found after applying chain movement.

A preliminary study on the solution of fully fuzzy Sylvester matrix equation

Wan Suhana Wan Daud; Nazihah Ahmad; Ghassan Malkawi

Sylvester matrix equation is one of the most popular equations used in control theory. In applying the uncertainty, vague, ambiguity and incomplete real problem, this equation can be employed with the fuzzy theory. In this study, we present a preliminary study on how the Sylvester matrix equation is solved when its parameters are fuzzy or known as fully fuzzy Sylvester matrix equation (FFSME). This study shows that the FFSME can be transferred to linear system, as in the case of crisp linear Sylvester matrix equation. We also show that the transformation of FFSME to linear system passes on fully fuzzy linear system (FFLS), subsequently the solution of FFLS is obtained by its associated linear system, which equivalent to fuzzy solution of FFSME. A numerical example is given to illustrate this transformation. Finally, we draw some conclusions concerning the related future directions towards this study.

A fuzzy Bayesian network approach to quantify the human behaviour during an evacuation

Nurulhuda Ramli; Noraida Abdul Ghani; Nazihah Ahmad

Bayesian Network (BN) has been regarded as a successful representation of inter-relationship of factors affecting human behavior during an emergency. This paper is an extension of earlier work of quantifying the variables involved in the BN model of human behavior during an evacuation using a well-known direct probability elicitation technique. To overcome judgment bias and reduce the expert’s burden in providing precise probability values, a new approach for the elicitation technique is required. This study proposes a new fuzzy BN approach for quantifying human behavior during an evacuation. Three major phases of methodology are involved, namely 1) development of qualitative model representing human factors during an evacuation, 2) quantification of BN model using fuzzy probability and 3) inferencing and interpreting the BN result. A case study of three inter-dependencies of human evacuation factors such as danger assessment ability, information about the threat and stressful conditions are used to illus...

Embedding chain movement in James Diagram for partitioning beta number

Eman F. Mohommed; Haslinda Ibrahim; Ammar Seddiq Mahmood; Nazihah Ahmad

James Diagram is a graphical representation for partition any non-negative numbers. In this paper new diagrams Atc are constructed by embedding a chain movement. The first Beta numbers are obtained from the partition and denoted by b1. Then b2 is obtained from b1. Finally, this method is generalized to any bn from b1 where e = 2 and x ∈  [(fix(βi2)+1),1].
