This article presents the results of the study performed to obtain a computational simplified model of humidification systems that can be used in field as diagnostic tool in energetic audits of systems in the branch of refrigeration and air conditioning systems (HVAC/R). The simplicity of the model and its accuracy level are crucial for the analysis, to obtain this, a series of tests and experimental analysis on different types of test equipment are made that allows the model validation.

This article presents the results of the experimental study performed to obtain the leakage or infiltrations of air into a conditioned enclosure. This information is very important considering that could be useful to calculate the thermal load of the building and/or refrigeration systems in order to estimate the influence of this parameter on the conditioned space thermal balance. The study is performed on a test-bench specially designed to simulates the thermal behavior of an office, with a single wall exposed to outside climatic conditions where a window is located, the variables involved in the thermal balance of the window are monitored each minute, during one year.

This article presents the experimental development implemented to estimate the thermal conductivity of some materials used in Colombia at the field of refrigeration and air conditioning (HVAC/R). The thermal balance is used as a tool on a calorimeter, specially designed and instrumented to estimate the conductivity of different materials, diminishing the ambient effect on the thermal balance. The mathematical model implemented from the thermal balance is solved using EES software.

This paper present the results of the experimental design performed to inner and outer air temperature measurement useful to HVAC/R applications (Heating, Ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration). In this type of applications the temperature represents one of the main design and operation parameters of components and systems, with which to evaluate its global operation. Therefore requires measurement systems that guarantee some certainty degree at the results, to improve its efficiency and operation condition.

This article presents the results of the study for the experimental design, construction and calibration of a heat flow sensor, useful to detection of very small heat flows in Heating, Ventilation, Air conditioning and Refrigeration (HVAC/R). A sensor design is proposed in order to measure heat flows from 2 until 30 W/(m2K) in buildings walls and climatic chambers with a maximal total uncertainty of 5 % of the measured heat flow. At the moment, for another type of applications, sensors are produced to measure highest heat flows, in which an uncertainty of +/- 5 W/(m2K) are not significant, nevertheless in HVAC/R applications this level of uncertainty is unacceptable.

This paper present the results of the experimental design performed to enclosure surfaces temperature measurement useful to HVAC/R applications (Heating, Ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration). In this type of applications the temperature represents one of the main parameters of experimental validation thermal model of a enclosure with a wall and window exposed to external ambient, with which to evaluate its global operation. Therefore requires measurement systems that guarantee some certainty degree at the results, to improve its efficiency and operation condition.
