Gendered politics: political psychology at the intersection of the individual and the environment

Nicholas Winter

Karpowitz, Mendelberg, and Mattioli [Politics, Groups, and Identities 3 (1): 149–177. doi:10.1080/21565503.2014.999804] take important steps to advance our understanding of the interaction between individual gender and the gendered social context – a centrally important task for political psychology broadly speaking. In this response I praise their progress in this difficult journey and then point to several lines of research on gender that suggest directions for continued theoretical and empirical progress.
