The Influence of the Constructive Solution of Fine Bubble Generators on the Concentration of Oxygen Dissolved in Water

Ionela Mihaela Căluşaru; Nicolae Băran; Alexandru Pătulea

Original construction solutions for two types of fine bubble generators whose nozzles are manufactured by electroerosion are presented. The differential equation of the transfer speed of the oxygen towards water is numerically integrated and theoretical results are presented. A setup for experimental tests regarding the functioning of fine bubble generators was designed and built in the frame of the laboratory. Measurements regarding the increase of the concentration of oxygen dissolved in water were performed. Theoretical and experimental results were compared.

Reasearches Regarding the Measurements of the Dissolved Concentration in Water

Alexandru Pătulea; Ionela Mihaela Căluşaru; Nicolae Băran

The paper aims to present a procedure of measuring concentration of oxygen dissolved in water; this procedure is based on the electrochemical method. The differential equation of the transfer speed of the oxygen towards water is numerically integrated and theoretical results are presented. A setup used for experimental researches regarding water oxygenation was subsequently developed; measurements regarding the increase of the concentration of oxygen dissolved in water were performed. Theoretical and experimental results were compared.

Ionela Mihaela Căluşaru; Nicolae Băran; Adrian Costache

In the paper the differential equation of the transfer speed of the oxygen towards water is numerically integrated, software is written and theoretical results are presented. A setup for experimental tests regarding the functioning of fine bubble generators was designed and built in the frame of the Department of Thermotechnics, Engines, Thermic and Refrigeration Plants laboratory. Measurements regarding the increase of the concentration of oxygen dissolved in water were performed. Theoretical and experimental results were compared.

Theoretical and Experimental Researches Regarding the Performances of a New Type of Rotating Machine with Profiled Rotors

Nicolae Băran; Despina Duminică; Daniel Besnea; Antonios Detzortzis

The paper establishes an original computation formula for the flow rate of the fluid transported by a new type of rotating machine with profiled rotors; the theoretical characteristic diagram of the machine - flow rate versus machine speed - is built. The scheme of the test stand used for performing measurements needed in order to build the experimental diagram is presented. The variation of the volumetric efficiency of the working machine in function of the machine speed is finally described.

Gheorghe Gheorghe; Octavian Donțu; Nicolae Băran; Ioana Corina Moga; Mihaela Constantin; Eugen Tămășanu

The paper presents methods for measuring the dissolved oxygen concentration in water; the electrical method is presented by presenting an experimental installation designed and built in the laboratories of POLITEHNICA University in Bucharest. For the creation of fine air bubbles, a bubble generator with 0.1 mm orifices processed by spark-erosion was used. The results of the experimental researches on the measurement of dissolved oxygen in water are presented.

Rareș Păun; Nicolae Băran; Albertino Roza; Beatrice Tănase; Rasha Cusma

The paper presents how advanced technologies can serve to solve some water aeration plants problems. The construction of fine air bubbles generators is needed for an efficient water aeration. The main element of those generators is the orifice plate for air injection in the water mass. The research team has built a fine bubble generator with 152 orifice plate (O 100 μm) which can be achieved through spark-erosion or microvoids technologies. The theoretical and experimental researches on increasing the dissolved oxygen concentration in water have led to satisfactory results.

Researches on the Use of Air Filtration Elements in the Creation of Microbubbles for Water Oxygenation

Nicolae Băran; George Marin; Mihaela Constantin; Rareș Păun; Albertino Roza

The air filtering device allows the airflow at the exit of filter cartridge to generate very small bubbles called microbubbles (O < 100 μm). The size of the air bubble injected into the water tank depends on the orifice size in the microbubbles generator perforated plate. The paper presents the theoretical and experimental researches results on the use of air filtration cartridges to the achievement of micro air bubbles.

Researches Regarding Water Aeration Using a New Type of Fine Bubble Generator

Mihaela Vlăsceanu; Nicolae Băran; Mihai Băran

The purpose of the paper is to demonstrate that the age of porous diffusers manufactured by ceramic, plastic or other porous materials declined. Following theoretical and experimental researches, the author built a new type of fine bubble generator whose nozzle plate is manufactured by spark erosion. The constructive solution of the fine bubble generator is presented; the scheme of the experimental stand developed at POLITEHNICA University of Bucharest is subsequently exposed. The final section of the paper presents the results of the experimental research, which are compared to data existing in specialty literature.
