Modeling the Customer’s Contextual Expectations Based on Latent Semantic Analysis Algorithms

Nina Rizun; Katarzyna Ossowska; Yurii Taranenko

This paper presents the approach of modeling the system of customer’s contextual expectations. The novelty consists in systematic usage of the different technic. The first technic – the theory of Benefits Language as an instrument of forming Concept of Benefits for studied product. The second one – the combination of advantages the probabilistic Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) and Linear Algebra based Latent Semantic Analysis (LSA) methods as an instrument of textual data retrieval. The verification of the proposed approach for specifies type of product – films – was conducted. The main research plan was realized: Contextual Summary using the LDA-based algorithm was formed; the Contextual Frameworks using LSA-based approach were performed; the Manually Created Contextual Expectations Dictionary was built. The results of case study, based on the Polish-language film reviews corpora analysis, allowed to make the conclusions about the possibility to use proposed approach for building the system of Customer’s Contextual Expectations.

The Algorithm of Modelling and Analysis of Latent Semantic Relations: Linear Algebra vs. Probabilistic Topic Models

Nina Rizun; Yurii Taranenko; Wojciech Waloszek

This paper presents the algorithm of modelling and analysis of Latent Semantic Relations inside the argumentative type of documents collection. The novelty of the algorithm consists in using a systematic approach: in the combination of the probabilistic Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) and Linear Algebra based Latent Semantic Analysis (LSA) methods; in considering each document as a complex of topics, defined on the basis of separate analysis of the particular paragraphs. The algorithm contains the following stages: modelling and analysis of Latent Semantic Relations consistently on LDA- and LSA-based levels; rules-based adjustment of the results of the two levels of analysis. The verification of the proposed algorithm for subjectively positive and negative Polish-language film reviews corpuses was conducted. The level of the recall rate and precision indicator, as a result of case study, allowed to draw the conclusions about the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

The future of logistical education in Poland and Ukraine : comparative analysis of students' opinions

Halina Ryzhkova; Irena Pawłyszyn; Nina Rizun

Background: A professional future is the next logical step aft er a student completes their chosen degree course. More frequently, even during their studies, young people seek opportunities to participate in various conferences, training courses, internships, work placements, and to travel abroad, etc. All of this has one main go al to increase the students attractiveness as a potential employee on the labour market. Thus, it becomes very important to ask relevant and timely questions to students about the knowledge th ey gain during their studies, the skills they posse s and how they perceive their future work. Methods: This paper presents the views of students of logis tics and related disciplines regarding their future careers. The aim of this study was to investigate the expectatio ns, skills and visions of the future of the young g eneration who stand at the threshold of their careers, in two countries Poland and Ukraine. The test method used for collec ting opinions was a questionnaire. Results: This paper recognises key elements of young peopl es erception of the labour market. They present a brief theoretical discussion on the issue in question. Th e authors present the results of the comparison of attitudes of students from two universities in Poland and in Ukraine, in four areas: Participants Profiles; Professional A ttractiveness; Obtained Knowledge and Skills; Employment. Conclusions: Contemporary logistics requires professionals of th e highest calibre, which is confirmed by many respe cted authorities. The research results show a preview of the preferences of students of logistics and relat ed disciplines in terms of future work, and give information about the know ledge they gained during their studies. Comparison o f the two groups of participants from different countries gives the opportunity to observe the aspirations and visions f each , as well as propose recommendations aimed at signalling the pos sibility of improving the situation of graduates in relation to their future employment.
