There can never be civilization if, within the society, the masses are not educated and developed. Discussion on tauhidic science can be conceptual and philosophical. However such discussions have to be translated into the behavior of not just the scientist themselves but also the masses as well. This means that the discipline of tauhidic science needs to be taught in schools. Hence tauhidic science education is about the implementation of the teaching and learning of tauhidic science in the classroom. Islamic schools in Malaysia offer a curriculum consisting of religious and regular subjects like language, science, and humanities. Currently science and religion, whether in Islamic schools or regular schools, have been taught separately. This is due to the tradition of science that recognize only that which is measureable and repeatable. Knowingly or unknowingly, people just accept that science and religion are separate fields. this is also includes all institution s within the system of education in Malaysia. However, among the Muslim scientist there have already been discussions philosophically and conceptually on Islamic Science (al Farouqi, Syed Naguib, Othman Bakar). In Islam, science and religion are linked in an integrated manner. Such ideas have attracted authorities in some private religious institutions who would like to see that the teaching and learning of science and religion is done in an integrated manner and aligned to the holistic understanding of events, phenomena, and outcome. There are Islamic schools at preschool through secondary levels in Malaysia that have started to offer science lessons. Yayasan Pendidikan Takmir, Kajang, Malaysia is one such example. This school has been one of the pioneer schools interested in integrating science and religion. This is to better position ideas, whether religious or scientific, such that they can help enhance the appreciation of science from the perspective of religion and vice versa. How should this be done? In other words, how can tauhidic science education be implemented in the classroom?

Users’ Involvement is very crucial in any model or system development in the domain of information systems. In a preliminary study conducted earlier, the findings shown that users faced difficulties during curriculum design process. Consequently, a model namely Information System Curriculum Design Model is proposed. The purpose of this paper is to perform users’ verification to ensure the proposed model meet requirements of users who are also called curriculum designers. Survey is conducted to gather responses from 90 curriculum designers in 20 Institution of Higher Learning (IHL). The survey findings indicate that each component of the proposed model is perceived important. Once the proposed model is verified, it is converted to a prototype for further testing in the future.

Capability Maturity Model (CMM) is applied as a process improvement model not only in software industry but also in education sector. This study proposes a maturity model, which constructed based on CMM, in guiding curriculum designers in Institution of Higher Learning (IHL) in Malaysia to design quality curriculum. The proposed maturity model possesses process and product elements; and it contains a set of key process areas and best practices. A case study is carried out in a private IHL in Malaysia to perform a pilot test on the proposed maturity model. The results may also help the institution to be informed of current as well as future improvement process, finally aid in producing quality curriculum for IHL in Malaysia.

The main purposes of this study were: (a) to test for the factorial validity of the Teacher Curriculum Paradigm Instrument (TCP-I) separately for teachers who embraced standardized management paradigm (N=559) constructivist best practices paradigm (N=293), and curriculum wisdom paradigm (N=237), (b) to cross-validate this structure across and independent sample for the three groups of teachers; and (c) to test for the equivalence of item measurement and theoretical structure across these three types of paradigm. The three-factor structure TCP measurement model was significantly supported by the invariance findings across the three groups of teachers. This had served as the robust and psychometric evidences for the generalizability of the TCP-I in general and dependent on members of the teacher curriculum paradigm in particular.

Kata kunci: Sikap; penggunaan teknologi komputer; makmal sains The ‘Smart School’ and ‘English in the Teaching of Science & Mathematics’ are examples of programmes introduced by the Malaysian Ministry of Education (MMOE) to enhance the integration of computer technology into the classroom instructional activities. The fact that all schools are now being equipped with laptops and also LCD projectors shows the dedication of the MMOE to encourage teachers in the intergration process, especially among Science and Mathematics teachers. There is also plan by the MOE to integrate the computer technology in the school science computer laboratory. This article reports on the study undertaken to elucidate science teachers’ attitude towards the usage of computer technology in the school science laboratory in Negeri Sembilan. The results of this study indicates that teachers hold a positive attitude towards using computer technology in the school science laboratory. The results also showed that the influence of computer experience at home on computer technology attitudes depend on whether teachers received laptops or not. Key words: Attitudes; use of computer technology; science laboratory
