In hypersonic flows, extremely high surface heat loads and wall temperature effects become more important and aerothermal considerations have to be involved. To investigate the heating of the structure and its influence on the flow field, fluid-structure interaction is taken into account. Therefore a partitioned coupling approach is applied using a mesh-adaptive, finite volume flow solver, a finite element structural solver and an AeroThermoelastic-Coupling Module.
