49.1: Development of Highly Rigid Shadow Mask for Color CRTs

Claded steel plate is applied to make shadow mask rigid. It is confirmed that two layers Claded structure is not suitable for the shadow mask material because of bi-metal action. The internal stress accumulation mechanism was discovered in three layers Claded structure and that improves the shadow mask rigidity by 60%.
