Usability Evaluation of Anthropomorphic Prosthetic Hand Based on ISO 9241-11

This paper aims at evaluating an anthropomorphic prosthetic hand based on usability concept. It can be controlled for pre-defined five motions. The assessment is conducted by design approach. Users are given the task according to the rules of hand benchmarking in Southampton Hand Assessment Procedure (SHAP) by using Anthropomorphic Prosthetic Hand to perform daily activities. The quantitative data is obtained by a test that based on the criteria of learnability, memorability, satisfaction, efficiency and errors. The qualitative data is obtained by giving USE (Usefulness, Satisfaction and Ease of Use) questionnaires. The recommendation design is prepared by using Quality Function Deployment (QFD) method to combine suggestions from respondents and product developers. Assessment by USE questionnaires shows that the usability level of Anthropomorphic Prosthetic Hand on the aspect of usefulness is 68.3% and 63.8%; satisfaction is 59.5% and 55.6%. The improvement recommendations based on the result of (QFD) are Variant material to connect to the arm, System to connect to arm, Dimension of connecting to arm, Connection information to the arm, and Instructions for the exercise stage. So that improvement is done in accordance with ISO 9241-11: 1998.

Analysis of the community website usability using Koohang's model based on task performance comparison result

Kaskus.co.id is one of the biggest community site which ranks 1st in Indonesia and 257 positions for the world in 2010. As time went on, many other similar sites with kaskus.co.id that is able to meet the needs of Indonesian social-networking communities such as forum.detik.com. This gives the impact of a decline in the number of access to the site kaskus.co.id and shift its rank. The results of the interview against the user community site kaskus.co.id is there are some shortcomings on the site, i.e. the process of posting the increasingly complicated, too many ads that cover the main content, and the difficulty of organizing pictures. The purpose of the research is to determine the value of usability of the community site kaskus.co.id as Indonesias largest sites which ranks 1st in Indonesia in 2010. There are 22 indicators divided into 3 indicators for task performance and 19 indicators Koohang model. Task performance is used to find out the level of site performance directly while the indicator of Koohans models used for qualitative questionnaire assessment. The determination of the value of usability of the site kaskus.co.id obtained using WEBUSE with merit conversion scale. The whole valuation WEBUSE respondents will be processed to earn points for each questionnaire indicators and the level usability of the community site kaskus.co.id. The results of this study in the form of value of usability of the sites, the analysis of the 19 indicators that affect the value of usability and indicators guide the creation of community sites. In this kaskus.co.id case, we obtained information that kaskus.co.id has a moderate level of usability.

ANALISIS TURN AROUND TIME (TAT) PADA PROSES POOLING KOMPONEN PESAWAT: STUDI KASUS KETERLAMBATAN PENGEMBALIAN KOMPONEN PESAWAT CRJ 1000 NEXTGEN DI PT. GAA

Penelitian ini membahas mengenai proses kontrol turn around time (TAT) pada proses pooling komponen pesawat regional. TAT adalah batasan waktu yang diberikan oleh vendor untuk melakukan pengembalian komponen pesawat yang dipinjam atau disewa. TAT yang diberikan oleh vendor selama 10 hari. Pada kenyataannya banyak sekali keterlambatan yang terjadi dalam pengembalian komponen, keterlambatan ini akan menimbulkan charge yang berdampak pada penambahan cost yang perlu dibayarkan ke vendor . Untuk itu dilakukan analisis penyebab terlewatinya TAT dengan studi kasus pesawat CRJ 1000 NextGen. Metode yang digunakan dalam analisis adalah diagram sebab akibat (cause and effect diagram) dan metode 5 why . Berdasarkan analisis dengan menggunakan diagram sebab akibat didapat penyebab masalah TAT pengembalian yang melewati batas ditemukan 4 penyebab utama yaitu: (1) kesalahan operator dalam menangani komponen, (2) penanganan komponen di bagian import-eksport, (3) kelengkapan berkas komponen dan jarak ke OSA dan (4) Alat bantu angkut masih terbatas . Saran yang dapat diberikan berdasarkan hasil penelitian adalah perbaikan manajemen pengecekan dan pemberkasan dalam sistem, menghindari penundaan pengembalian komponen ke vendor, menambah alat angkut dan penerapan alur proses komponen pooling optimal 10 atau 14 hari. Abstract [Analysis of Turn Around Time (TAT) on the Pooling Process of Aircraft Components: A Case Study of Component Returning Delay in CRJ 1000 NextGen Aircraft in PT. GAA]. This study discusses the control process of turn around time (TAT) in the pooling process of regional aircraft components. TAT is the time limit given by the vendor to refund the aircraft components borrowed or rented. TAT provided by vendors is 10 days. In fact, there are a lot of delays in returning the items that cause a delay charge. This charge affects an additional cost that needs to be paid to the vendor. Therefore, analysis of TAT is conducted with a case study in 1000 CRJ NextGen aircraft. The method used in the analysis are the cause and effect diagram and 5 why method. Based on the analysis using causal diagram, it is obtained the four main causes of problems are: (1) The operator error in the handling of components, (2) the handling of components in the import-export, (3) the completeness of the file components and distance to OSA and (4) The tool carrier is still limited. Advice can be given based on the results of the study are improvement of checking and filling management system, avoiding delays the return of the components to the vendor, adding conveyance and application of optimal process flow pooling component within 10 or 14 days..
