Abstract In some class of supersymmetric (SUSY) models, the neutral Wino becomes the lightest superparticle and the Bino decays into the Wino and standard-model particles. In such models, we show that the measurement of the Bino mass is possible if the short charged tracks (with the length of O ( 10 cm ) ) can be identified as a signal of the charged-Wino production. We pay particular attention to the anomaly-mediated SUSY-breaking (AMSB) model with a generic form of Kahler potential, in which only the gauginos are kinematically accessible superparticles to the LHC, and discuss the implication of the Bino mass measurement for the test of the AMSB model.

The 2005 run (RUN05) was the first extended operation of the polarized RHIC‐pp program. Throughout 3 months of running, polarization measurements were regularly executed every 2 ∼ 3 hours during the beams at storage energy 100GeV using RHIC pC‐polarimeters. These measurements were performed under different beam conditions, i.e., intensity, emittance, backgrounds, cumulated radiation damage on detectors and so on. The stability of measurements under these various conditions is a major concern and is discussed in detail.

We present a review of the SUSY search strategies in ATLAS in conjunction with a readiness of the detector systems for first collision data in 2009 fall. Commissioning was performed with the LHC single beams and the cosmic ray data in 2008. The talk covers the analysis strategies based on the large ETmiss plus high pT multi‐jets signature in which the number of methods are investigated to extract background estimation from real data. The expected discovery reach with inclusive analysis is shown. The review also covers the special signature searches for certain SUSY scenarios, where specific detector components play a crucial role in detecting and measuring them.

Precise measurements of the single spin asymmetry, AN and the double spin asymmetry, ANN, in proton‐proton (pp) elastic scattering in the region of four‐momentum transfer squared 0.001 < −t < 0.032 (GeV/c)2 have been performed using a polarized atomic hydrogen gas jet target and the RHIC polarized proton beam at 24 GeV/c and 100 GeV/c. The polarized gaseous proton target allowed us to achieve the measurement of ANN in the CNI region for the first time. Our results of AN and ANN provide significant constraints to determine the magnitude of poorly known hadronic single and double spin‐flip amplitudes at this energy.
