This paper addresses the problem of designing closed-loop control of emotion based on affective measures and computing. The work is focused on design rule base control system that serves for positive emotion state stabilization. The proposed approach is based on analyzing of breathing signal. The measured signal is analyzed according to features important for emotional changes. Knowing emotional state of person and desired level of affect should allow to modify it through knowledge base engine. Closed-loop control system is a fuzzy rule base that is designed on fuzzy model of breathing time series and data base of affective images. Proposed system may constitute basis for the whole family of new tools. All results are illustrated with examples.

Assessment of scientific achievements of scientists is difficult because the science is divided into scientific domains and disciplines. The classification is not a partition, so very often disciplines are related to a few scientific domains. The paper presents the method of calculating scientists’ contributions to science, which are based on the number of articles published in journals connected to disciplines which are, in turn, related to scientific domains. The application of fuzzy relations and their composition simplifies the problem of describing these connections. The idea of the scientific contribution unit and the usage of the optimistic fuzzy aggregation norm allows calculating the scientific contribution of each scientist. Since levels of scientific contributions belong to the interval [0,1], there is a possibility to prepare rankings of scientists. The example of the application of this method is supported by the result of the estimation of scientific achievement by the real scientist.

The paper presents methods of preparing students’ rankings based on the results of final secondary school examination test in mathematics in Poland with the proposal of methods for calculating the levels of the likelihood of learning outcome acquirement. The currently used method is based on the percentage of earned points and does not take into account levels of acquirement of learning outcomes by students. The data used in this article contains results of students who earned the same number of points, so the structure of this uniform group with respect to learning outcomes will be presented. All chosen methods of preparing rankings are based on the experts’ assessment of levels of verification of learning outcomes by items and methods of this assessment fuzzification. According to the applied method, the rankings show some difference.

This article is devoted to explore the robotic and software support strategies based on a sample activity providing optimal inputs, namely a simulated human missions. This mission will be treated as a clean-sheet approach for operating multiple, diverse and adaptive agents in complex environments. Building upon existing state-of-the-art hardware, like mobile robots, astrobiological instruments and software architectures, results and experiences from previous missions involving the partners, high-fidelity analog field tests shall demonstrate the added value, potential and limitations of adaptive machines supporting humans in a challenging environment.
