Power combining of Ku-band active dipoles in a cylindrical resonant cavity

This paper presents a Ku-band source with a new simple technique to combine the output powers of individual HEMT oscillators using half-wave dipole antennas and a cylindrical resonant cavity. The structure of the source should have potential also for millimeter-wave power combining.<<ETX>>

Design Aspects of a GSM Card Phone

Nokia has developed a GSM phone integrated into a PC Card (PCMCIA card). Design challenges (e.g form factor, power supply, interference) of the new product concept are discussed and solutions presented. Selected test results are presented for critical components and circuits. Host PCs unwanted noise emissions are discussed and a noise cancellation technique is introduced.
