Acute inferior ST elevation myocardial infarction following bee sting: a rare report of Kounis syndrome

We reported a case of 48 y old man presented to acute inferior myocardial infarction after bee sting. Fifteen minutes later, signs and symptoms were started. ST elevation was seen in hospital and ambulance. However, he had normal coronary arteries in coronary angiography. The patient was diagnosed as Kounis syndrome and discharged after 3 d hospitalization.

Report of a Case of Pacemaker Depletion Presenting with Wide QRS Tachycardia

Runaway pacemaker results from pacemaker malfunction and is characterized by sudden increases in the stimulus rate above the set upper rate limit of the pacemaker. Here we report the case of a patient with wide QRS complex tachycardia who was admitted to the emergency unit and diagnosed with runaway pacemaker.

Treatment of ineffective endocardial defibrillation with subcutaneous array: a case report

Defibrillation threshold (DFT) testing is an important part of ICD implantation. After placement of the ICD generator, a DFT test is performed to evaluate the integrity of the ICD system and to confirm a successful defibrillation safety margin. More than 6% of ICDs implanted are not within the DFT safety margin. Presently described is the case of a patient with a high DFT and some of the methods that can be used to manage this circumstance, including the use of a subcutaneous array.
