Currently, wind power is a leader in the renewable energy sector. One of the many advantages of the development of renewable energy sources is small harm to the environment. Nevertheless, in order to install a wind farm we must overcome a number of obstacles associated with it. One of the many stages of the construction of wind turbines is designing its proper location. It is a very complex process, in which a number of criteria must be analysed, often hardly comparable with each other and even contradictory. The paper presents the concept of selecting a wind farm location using multicriteria optimisation methods.

Power system control is a complex task, which is strongly related to the number and kind of generating units as well as to the applied technologies, such as conventional coal-fired power plants or wind and photovoltaic farms. Fast development of wind generation that is considered as unstable generation sets new strong requirements concerning remote control and data hubs cooperating with SCADA systems. Considering specific nature of the wind power generation, the authors analyze the problem of optimal control for wind power generation in farms located over a selected remotecontrolled part of the System Operator grid under advantageous wind conditions. This article presents an original stepwise method for tracing power flows that makes possible to eliminate current (power) overloading of power grid branches. Its core idea is to consider the discussed problem as an optimization task.

The research is devoted to the creation of favorable conditions for the integration of renewable sources of energy into electric grids, which were designed to be supplied from centralized generation at large electric power stations. Development of distributed generation in electric grids influences the conditions of their operation – conflict of interests arises. The possibility of optimal functioning of electric grids and renewable sources of energy, when complex criterion of the optimality is balance reliability of electric energy in local electric system and minimum losses of electric energy in it. Multilevel automated system for power flows control in electric grids by means of change of distributed generation of power is developed. Optimization of power flows is performed by local systems of automatic control of small hydropower stations and, if possible, solar power plants.

Wind energy in Poland began to develop in the early 90s of the twentieth century, but its dynamic growth can be observed in subsequent years. At the end of 2014, the total installed capacity in wind farms in Poland amounted to 3 800 MW and continues to grow. The construction and installation of wind farms with high power brings with it a number of problems related to the compensation of the 110 kV cable lines of considerable length and the right type of compensation equipment. The article describes issues related to regulation of reactive power in wind farms and an analysis of individual compensation equipment used in wind energy.

The tools for energy management of district heating on the consumer side are proposed in this article. The information system of making decision support in the management of heat supply which carries out the heating monitoring, forecast of heat consumption and decision support of the heating modes regulation is developed. To make the decisions on heating modes regulation the system of automatic heating control in individual heating substation is proposed. Using of these systems allows managing the heating system in individual heating substation and reducing heat consumption on the consumer side.

The paper presents a method of forecasting the energy center position of the laser beam images using the parallel-hierarchical network. Main steps for classification and forecast of energy center coordinates of laser beam spot images are described, which allow to develop a new information technology for their classification and forecast their energy center coordinates. Predictions based on the known neural networks and on the proposed method using the parallel-hierarchical network were evaluated experimentally.

The article contains the analysis of opportunities to measure reactive power under asymmetrical nonsinusoid modes of three-phase networks with earthed neutral using classical and instantaneous power theories. It is shown that, under an insignificant mode asymmetry, one can apply any of powers. This being the case, the simplest way to carry out the measurement is to use the instantaneous power theory. With the increase in network mode asymmetry, it would be advisable to use the reactive power, which is based on the classical power theory.

The advances in computer technology require an interconnection between a man and computer, more specifically, between complex information systems. The paper is therefore dedicated to creation of dialog systems, able to respond to users depending on the implemented textual educational content. To support the dialog there had been suggested the knowledge base model on the basis of the unit and a fuzzy sense relation. Lexical meanings is taken out from the text by processing the syntactic links between the allologs of all the sentences and the answer shall be generated as the composition of a fuzzy ratios upon the formal criterion. The information support technology had been put to an evaluation sample test, which demonstrates the combination of information from some sentences in the final response.
