The results of ICP spectrometer measurements of low concentrations of lead and copper in aqueous solutions with preliminary concentration of a sample by means of a flow-injection system are presented. A significant decrease in the detection limits of the indicated elements has been obtained. The influence of different methods used for mathematical processing of the results of measurements on the error in determining elements in aqueous solutions has been investigated.

Narrow atomic absorption lines of Ba, Cs, Mg, and Tl are recorded in an electrothermal atomizer with a graphite tube furnace by the intracavity laser spectroscopy method. The conditions of applicability of this laser absorption method for reducing the observed profiles of spectral lines to the true ones are found. Measurement of the integral absorption coefficient has made it possible to determine the absolute number of free atoms of each element in the analyte volume at the maximum of the absorption peak under optimum conditions of atomizer heating. The Voigt parameters are determined from the profiles of absorption lines.

The use of the resonance fluorescence method has permitted making direct local measurements of the concentration and the temperature of different atoms and ions. The high sensitivity and good localizability of the method were first confirmed experimentally in [i]. A concentration of hydrogen atoms N: = 4.5.10 e cm -3 has been measured on the axis of the plasma sheath in the chamber of the Tokamak FT-I apparatus, and its radial distribution and variation during the current pulse have been found.
