The study aimed to analyze the available evidence in the literature on nursing care in the hospital post-cardiac surgery. Data were collected from electronic databases LILACS, SciELO, MEDLINE, via DeCS thoracic surgery, hospital, nursing care, in the period 2001 to 2011. Ten articles were selected that showed the need to develop a plan of nursing discharge focusing on prevention of complications and coping with physical limitations resulting from heart surgery. Thus, the discharge should be considered from the time of admission, with carefully planned actions involving patient and family.

The study aimed to analyze the introduction of sexual and reproductive health concepts in the curriculums of nursing course of the Federal University of Bahia, from 1972 to 2006. It was carried out through qualitative approach, documentary research and semi-structured interview with professors who work exclusively for the institution. The results showed that, initially, the academic disciplines were exclusively related to biological aspects of womens health, focusing only on the maternal condition. The concepts of sexual and reproductive health in the female perspective were introduced later, in response to political demands for the creation of labor force in the field of healthcare with commitment to womens social condition. It was concluded that the curriculums evolved with the introduction of such concepts, especially from the decade of 1990s on.

This study aims at the analysis of the use of feminist proposals in the teaching-learning process of subjects related to sexual and reproductive health in nursing graduation courses. This is a qualitative study, whose data production techniques were documental research and semi-structured interview, whose professors had nursing master’s degree and teach/had taught any discipline on sexual and reproductive health. Results showed that the concepts of sexual and reproductive health are somehow inserted in undergraduate nursing, however, still concentrated on woman’s health subject, despite the attempt of professors to promote transversality of these concepts within other disciplines. It could be concluded that this research corroborates the necessity of professional development carrying the notion of integrality within care, as issues related to sexual and reproductive health shouldn’t be restricted to syllabus components related to woman’s health.
