Their expression for diffusivity is Kx=x2P4π(tx-t0) where Kx=thermaldiffusivityoflayer(cm2/s), x = thickness of layer (cm), P = period of the annual temperature wave (s) (assumed to be sinusoidal), and tx-t0=timelagbetweentemperaturewaveatthegroundsurfaceandatthebaseofthelayer.
