The transition to renewable energy sources and energy efficiency have become a central topic, also for the producing industry in Romania and all over Europe. Saving energy is on the agenda for companies as well as facilities and public institutions. Energy efficiency in companies can be controlled and systematized in an energy management system. The ISO standard 50001:2011 enables companies and other institutions to achieve a sustainable energy reduction by systematic energy controlling, documentation and raising the awareness of all personnel involved. This paper presents the challenges and benefits of an ISO 50001 implementation in an industrial environment as well as the methodology and systematic approach, but also tools such as energy controlling systems and measurement equipment which are helpful to achieve energetic transparency.

The movement of know-how or technical knowledge from one organization to another known as knowledge transfer in literature is considered to be one of the most important components of the strategic plan of a research institute. Despite the fact that INCESA (Research Hub of Applied Sciences, University of Craiova) is a young organization, it already counts an important number of collaborations with the local and regional business environment. Consequently, it is developing a management strategy that approaches the knowledge transfer (KT) to the industry as a recurrent event. The paper presents an overview of the KT to the industry as secured by INCESA. Two of the INCESAs KT-type projects financed by national grants and based on a partnership with the power distribution industry are the object of our analysis. The findings are used to refine the taxonomy of the KT channels in relation to INCESAs projects, and to feature a successful framework of the knowledge management at the micro level of the project, as well as at the meso-institutional level.

Electric domestic appliances are part of our daily life; they improve the quality of life. Concerning energy consumption of domestic appliances, great improvements was achieved these last years. The modern energy-efficient electric domestic appliances are electronically controlled. Generally, in a three-phase system, they constitute an unbalanced and nonlinear load. Their operation may cause power quality problems in low voltage networks. Nonlinear loads draw distorted currents from grid. Different harmonics, especially the third harmonic, in phase and neutral conductors, contribute significantly to the increase of losses in distribution networks having an important contribution to an inefficient operation of line and users. Additionally, the network pollution may decrease the reliability of line. The paper analyses the power quality perturbations produced in distribution networks by energy-efficient electric domestic operation. The conclusions are sustained by a case study.

This paperwork aims to present, after a general presentation of how to treat the neutral - izolated or by Petersen coil in the medium voltage supply, how the problems occur at the detection of earth faults in the medium voltage networks, of triggering erroneous lines without defect and not triggering of the defective lines (earthing), problems which may occur due to angle errors introduced by the current transformers of the lines, so as the fact that in the medium voltage network the active component is insignificant and does not help of a better classification in the area of the trigger lines with grounding, area defined as a targeting relays of modern protection.

The article presents a study to determine the thermal transmittance for buildings different walls structure. Thermal transmittance is used especially in western European countries to indicate the rate of heat transfer for different components of buildings: walls, ceilings, floors, windows, doors, etc. The first part of the article includes several thermal transmittance introductive notions. The second part of the article defines the global heat transfer and thermal transmittance and their calculating relationships. In the third part of the article is presented a comparison of thermal transmittance values for two different wall structures analyzed by numerical calculation so as MC 001/2009 and by measurements taken using specialized equipment Testo 435.

In low voltage distribution electricity grids is important to examine how to protect against hazardous voltages and currents that can occur with insulation degradation. It was found that the treatment of neutral defect is important in those regimes, the present paper aim to analyze the networks with isolated neutral. Describing phenomena circuitry directly affected by faulty depend on the network parameters Ciz, Cp and R which are variable in time. Touch voltage and electric currents of earthing in case of failure constitutes selection criteria for the protection system. This is chosen depending on the size of the neutral displacement voltage, fault current and how is the variation of these parameters over time. It is also shows the calculation of the total leakage current, variation of the neutral point and its consequences. The phenomena occurring in the network are identical in the powered equipment ones, they directly influencing the security of the personnel and also of the facilities. The paper also presents how to determine the equations that allow the geometric place plotting of curves for different voltages and network parameters. It is analyzed and the situation when the earthing is done by human body, which passes an electric current whose value, depends directly on resistance Rh of the body. As a conclusion it is found that the leakage current values in the networks with isolated neutral are lower compared to the values that appear in the case of networks with neutral connected directly to the ground, resulting that networks with isolated neutral can be used better in the hazardous environments.

History in use electromagnetic radiation in treating people various health conditions have a long history. Top questions about electromagnetic field effects occurred around the 40s in the same with the development of radar tracking systems. This paper aims to make an analysis of the studies and current research on the effects of electromagnetic fields on people health in the context of conflicting results encountered lately. The authors try to analyze the most relevant research published, especially after 2000, making certain observations and to compare the results.
