Towards a model for the measurement of data quality in websites

Patrícia Leite; Joaquim Gonçalves; Paulo Teixeira; Álvaro Rocha

Websites are, nowadays, the face of institutions, but they are often neglected, especially when it comes to contents. In the present paper, we put forth an investigation work whose final goal is the development of a model for the measurement of data quality in institutional websites for health units. To that end, we have carried out a bibliographic review of the available approaches for the evaluation of website content quality, in order to identify the most recurrent dimensions and the attributes, and we are currently carrying out a Delphi Method process, presently in its second stage, with the purpose of reaching an adequate set of attributes for the measurement of content quality.

Promoting Success in the Introduction of Health Information Systems

Paulo Teixeira; Patrícia Leite Brandão; Álvaro Rocha

The significant number of publications describing unsuccessful cases in the introduction of health information systems makes it advisable to analyze the factors that may be contributing to such failures. However, the very notion of success is not equally assumed in all publications. Based in a literature review, the authors argue that the introduction of systems must be based in an eclectic combination of knowledge fields, adopting methodologies that strengthen the role of organizational culture and human resources in this project, as a whole. On the other hand, the authors argue that the introduction of systems should be oriented by a previously defined matrix of factors, against which the success can be measured.

A model for the evaluation of data quality in health unit websites

Patrícia Leite; Joaquim Gonçalves; Paulo Teixeira; Álvaro Rocha

This article presents a research work, the goal of which was to achieve a model for the evaluation of data quality in institutional websites of health units in a broad and balanced way. We have carried out a literature review of the available approaches for the evaluation of website content quality, in order to identify the most recurrent dimensions and attributes, and we have also carried out a Delphi method process with experts in order to reach an adequate set of attributes and their respective weights for the measurement of content quality. The results obtained revealed a high level of consensus among the experts who participated in the Delphi process. In addition, the different statistical analysis and techniques implemented are robust and attach confidence to our results and consequent model obtained.

DICOM functionality assessment

Patrícia Leite; Sandro Carvalho; Paulo Teixeira; Álvaro Rocha

There is a wide range of health-related subareas that need to be considered, such as primary care, continuing care, imaging, pharmacy, among others. For this purpose, specialized norms and protocols have been created in each of these areas. In the case of imaging there is DICOM (Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine). To evaluate and improve the use of DICOM, in this work we will propose a method to evaluate its functionality, proposing the model for a questionnaire that will be useful for professionals in the field to characterize their level of functionality.

Patrícia Leite; Joaquim Gonçalves; Paulo Teixeira; Álvaro Rocha

The Websites are the face of institutions, but there is evidence that they are often little care, especially with regard to their contents. In this article we present part of an investigation aimed at developing a model for assessing the contents quality of institutional health facilities Websites. For this purpose, a literature review on evaluating the content quality of Websites approaches has been performed in order to identify the dimensions and quality attributes considered most. A process for applying the Delphi method, In its second stage, is in progress, with the aim of reaching a set of attributes capable of measuring content quality.
