European driving schedule of hybrid electric vehicle with electric power splitter and supercapacitor as electric storage unit

This paper presents the hybrid electric vehicle and its characteristics in standardized European driving schedule. The results are obtained through the mathematical model and simulation of the driving characteristics for hybrid electric drive which uses super-capacitor as energy storage unit. This work is part of the experimental working stand for electric and hybrid car drive research, which was developed in the Research Centre Josef Bozek at the Czech Technical University (CTU) in Prague.

Electric power divider of hybrid car propulsion systems

The paper deals with the power splitting synchronous permanent magnet generator used in hybrid electric cars. The synchronous permanent magnet generator is special electric double rotor generator which acts as power divider. This special electric machine concentrates planetary gear and electric generator, known from other solutions, into one special electric double rotor machine. The paper deals with this new machine from the point of view of its efficiency. The usage of this splitter device in hybrid electric drives is described. Important feature of this power splitter is its efficiency. Therefore laboratory measurements were performed. Results and their discussion are presented. Experimental results give very good efficiency of this power splitter in broad range of differential revolution of both rotors. The efficiency lies between 87 and 98 %.

Electric Power Divider in Hybrid Electric Vehicle Powertrain

Paper deals with automotive hybrid and power splitting drives. The system used for laboratory experiments at Czech Technical University in the Josef Bo¿ek Research Center of Engine and Automotive Technology is described and its function explained. Special attention is paid to the electric power divider, which is a synchronous permanent magnet generator with separately rotating stator and rotor. The theory of the divider is derived. The knowledge of qaxis reactance and d-axis reactance is for load characteristics important. A new method how to measure the q-axis synchronous reactance of permanent magnet machines was developed. The method and results are in the paper described.

Sinteza upravljanja i optimizacija frekvencije sklapanja DC/DC frekvencijskog pretvarača za superkondenzator

The article discusses design of mathematical model buck and boost converter and the analysis of the optimal frequency choice of the PWM signal for IGBT. The converter is dedicated for charging and discharging of hybrid car drive super-capacitor energy storage. The main role of the converter is to optimize energy content in super-capacitor storage used to acceleration and deceleration during driving period. Mathematical model of the system in MATLAB/Simulink and converter prototype with Freescale Digital Signal Processor 56F8257 were designed. Comparing of simulation results and results measured on the prototype are discussed on the end of the article.

EV drives testing and measurement system

A new SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY PARK in Roztoky town has been founded in the year 2012. Main research is focused onto the automotive techniques based on classical internal combustion engines (ICE) and progressive electric (ED) and hybrid drive (HD) technology. Therefore one of the special laboratories is equipped for electric and hybrid-electric drives measurements. For this purposes laboratory is equipped by electric power supplies and by dynamometric testing bench, which enable complex electric drives parameters measurement. Main topic of this article is to inform about architecture of this laboratory.
