The main objective of the project was to investigate the influence of the selected priority rules of technological operations on chosen production goals. The paper presents the results of the project. The dynamic scheduling process of operations was simulated on the model of production system. The effect of each priority rule has been studied for different production goals in different stressful situations. The synthesis and the evaluation of results were performed by using mathematical and statistical methods. The multi-objective evaluations scoring method have been chosen by authors.

The goal of this work was to use the process of knowledge discovery in planning and control of production processes. This work is focused on the prediction of the system behavior from the data of production process. The classification was used as a task of data mining. Some predictive models were created and the predictions of the production process behavior were realized by varying the input parameters using selected methods and techniques of data mining. It can be confirmed that the selected input parameters will lead to the fulfillment of the declared objectives of the process. The process of knowledge discovery has been implemented in the program STATISTICA Data Miner.

This thesis deals with systems integration at four levels. The systems integration is a complicated process which it usually do a system integrator. It is not just about the systems for business applications and administrative process but it also includes systems for manufacturing, distribution and communication. Each level is characterized by specific requirements.

This paper examines ERP implementation and its critical failure factors in ERP implementation. We focused on the five famous ERP implementation based on which we identified the most common issues during ERP implementation. The main part deals with poor planning and its impact on ERP implementation and provides different views and recommendation to avoid failure in ERP implementation.

Abstract Due to the increasing competitive environment in the manufacturing sector, many industries have the need for a computer integrated engineering management system. The Manufacturing Execution System (MES) is a computer system designed for product manufacturing with high quality, low cost and minimum lead time. MES is a type of middleware providing the required information for the optimization of production from launching of a product order to its completion. There are many studies dealing with the advantages of the use of MES, but little research was conducted on how to implement MES effectively. A solution to this issue are KPIs. KPIs are important to many strategic philosophies or practices for improving the production process. This paper describes a proposal for analyzing manufacturing system parameters with the use of KPIs.

Abstract The paper presents the simulation study results of the traffic system in the city of Hlohovec. The authors describe the process of building the model in Witness 2013c simulator. The individual entities of simulation model are explained in details, as the Witness simulator is primarily suitable for manufacture or service simulation and not for traffic system simulation. The goal of this paper is to analyse the traffic system and to suggest the changes for improving the traffic in the city of Hlohovec. All proposed measures will bring about 20% improvement of traffic when compared to the current state.

The paper describes the results of real simulation project in production line. The aim was to optimize the number of workers according to the different orders during one working week, to minimize time for orders realization with using the alternative technological processes, to minimize the length of order processing at maximum the number of workers on the shift. The simulation optimization was used for solution finding.

This article deals with knowledge discovery in databases (abbr. KDD) and methodology of this process. The authors give an identification of production parameters and their influence on a production process. Knowledge discovery in the production databases is minimally used for the process of planning and control. There are many problems that occur in the production process. It is important to indentify the impact of manufacturing parameters on the system for managers. New discovered knowledge from production systems will help make the right decision to fulfill the objectives. Using the KDD in the control of production systems, it can be achieved better understanding of system control and can help predict a future behavior of system. The authors formulated general knowledge for improve parameters of analyzed production process. The objectives, steps and some results of the project are presented in this article

In this paper, the effect of selected priority rules of scheduling is presented. This effect has been studied for chosen scheduling objectives by simulation method. The authors used the simulator Witness to experimentation with priority rules in a designed manufacturing system. The results of experiments have been processed into the synthesis of knowledge. The implementation of scheduling procedure is described in this paper.
