Capacity configuration of electric vehicle charging station for wind power smoothing

Smoothing active power of wind power by electric vehicle(EV) battery charging/discharging can diminish the fluctuation quantity of the grid-connected wind power. In this paper, an model for sizing optimal EV charging stations capacity for wind power smoothing is established, in which both the wind power ramp rate constraint and the state of charge constraint are considered. MADS is used as an effective algorithm to calculate the optimum capacity of EV charging stations. Finally, based on a numerical simulation, the effectiveness of the proposed model is validated.

Design and Implementation of Energy Hub for Smart Grid

In this paper a design and implementation method of smart energy hub is presented. This energy hub can incorporate diversified renewable energy, automated and intelligent management. The design of it deeply considered on the use of renewable energy and the reliability of power supply for critical load. It can be used as a basic unit of smart distribution grid, and it designs to operate in both gridconnected and stand-alone modes. The prototype of energy hub is developed and experiments are carried out. The experimental result show that the energy hub achieves the design features and operates stable and reliable.
