Several experimental measurements of reinforced concrete slab - subsoil interaction are compared with numerical analysis of shallow foundation by means of FEM. At the Faculty of Civil Engineering VSB - Technical University of Ostrava testing device was constructed so that the phenomena of soil - foundation interaction could be experimentally investigated and compared with numerical models. Results of experimental loading test are compared with soil - foundation interaction analysis based on finite element method (FEM). The purpose of this paper is to compare resulting deformation of the slab, subsidence of the subsoil, bending moments and contact stress calculated by different software based on FEM. Currently there are several software that, can deal with the interaction of foundations and subsoil.

This article presenting results of subsidence measurement on experimental post-tensioned concrete slab model during static load test. This subsidence measurement was realized on the large scale concrete slab model and brought important data for computer modeling by FEM (finite element method). The experiment simulated the load effect of the base plate of heavy rack. In the course of the static load test subsidence was measured by set of potentiometric gauges at the particular points in real time. The experiment continue on research activity focused on problematic of interaction between concrete structures and subsoil and was realized at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, VSB – Technical University of Ostrava, Czech Republic.

Experimental measurements described in this paper are a continuation of research focused on interaction of foundation concrete structures and subsoil. This problematic has been researching on the Faculty of Civil Engineering VSB - Technical University of Ostrava for long time. Is it one of the main research directions at the Department of Constructions. In 2013, the research was focused on the analysis of fiberconcrete foundation structures. Especially, It was tested a foundation slab model of the National Supercomputing Center IT4 Innovations. This significant construction is realized in campus of VŠB - Technical University of Ostrava right now. It was a big opportunity to compare a model test results with measurements from real construction.

The experimental model was designed as a cutout of prestressed foundation slab-on-ground and the static load test was conceived as a simulation of local loading of a square shape column. During the static load test, measurements focused on observation of horizontal deformations, tension inside the slab and on the contact surface between foundation structure and subsoil. The described static load test was part of a series of experiments realized at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, VSB -Technical university of Ostrava.

This experimental static load test is part of research activities scoped on problematics with involved foundation conditions. Especially for areas with influence of undermining or flood hazard. Concept of experiment was designed like a model situation of interaction between concrete column, concrete slab-on-ground and subsoil. During static load process were measured deformations, tensions inside the experimental model and geotechnical values on contact surface of concrete slab-on-ground and subsoil. These data were processed and presented in this article. The described experimental static load test is part of a series of experiments focusing on the problematics of concrete constructions in interaction with subsoil and was realized at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, VŠB –Technical University of Ostrava.
