This article is focusing on exploring parameters, which are needed to determine the most suitable location for public logistic centres in the Czech Republic. There is a wide range of factors, which will have an impact on the chosen location. It is not easy to define all the factors and include them into one model, especially because some of them are difficult to quantify. The aim of the research is to design a suitable tool to support the decision making process for the location of the public logistic centres. As public logistic centres will be partly financed by the Czech government, it is necessary to find a sensible tool as decision support.

AbstractTo increase flexibility in todays global marketplace is needed to remain competitive and respond to rapidly changing markets. From that point of view, supplier selection represents one of the most important functions to be performed by the purchasing department. The supplier selection is a multi-criterion problem which includes both quantitative and qualitative criteria. In order to select the best suppliers, it is necessary to make a trade off between these criteria. The article deals with supplier selection using the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). AHP provides a framework for making effective decisions in complex decision situations (e.g. vendor selection), helps to simplify and accelerate the natural process of decision making. AHP is a method of decomposition of complex unstructured situation into simpler components, thus creating a hierarchical system problem. AbstractThe major change in trends of air transport development is to increase operating efficiency, productivity and profitability. Airline companies (air operators or carriers) can ensure significant fuel savings and better utilization of airplanes capacity. So they need better transport planning tool for costs minimization on a voyage route with multi- ple loading/unloading airports (multi-stop routes).The existing routes can be re-optimized (improved) or alternative routes can be offered instead. In this research the efficient heuristic algorithm for optimal transportation of N different loads (e.g. passenger contingent) for the airplane with limited capacity is being developed. The main goal of algorithm is to reduce the idle capacity on the route, to decrease expenses and to increase revenue. Through many test examples we can see that such approach functions very good and calculation complexity is under control.

Abstract The bullwhip effect generally refers to the phenomenon where order variability increases as the orders move upstream in the supply chain. It is serious problem for every member of the supply chain. This effect begins at customers and passes through the chain to producers, which are at the end of the logistic chain. Especially food supply chains are affected by this issue. These chains are unique for problems of expiration of goods (particularly perishable goods), variable demand, orders with quantity discounts and effort to maximize the customer satisfaction. This paper will present the problem of the bullwhip effect in the real supply chain in the food industry. This supply chain consists of approximately 350 stores, four central warehouses and more than 1000 suppliers, but the case study will examine 87 stores, one central warehouse and one supplier in 2015. The aim of this paper is the analysis of the order variability between the various links in this chain and confirmation of the bullwhip effect in this chain. The subject of the analysis will be perishable goods.
